What hudud advocates fail to understand DOJ’s probe

PAS: Overseas 1MDB reports prove Hadi’s claim of foreign meddling

your say1yrsaywhattheyfailtounderstandAnonymous 2415891461978791: By the time international authorities began to seriously investigate the 1MDB matter, the basic facts were already in the public domain, thanks to Wall Street JournalSarawak Report, the New York Timesand others.

PAS information chief Nasrudin Hassan, there was no need for any Malaysian to file a police report. The alleged crime could hardly be ignored (except, of course, by the Malaysian police and attorney-general).

Bill Price: Yes, perhaps this is a simple legal technicality that illustrates one of the differences between Malaysian and US law – there is no need for anyone to “lodge a report” with the police in the US to get them to investigate a criminal case.

The notion that someone has to file a report in the US to get this investigation started is incorrect.

Oscar Kilo: 1MDB funds were allegedly stolen and laundered in the US financial system and the “stolen” 1MDB money was spent in the US to buy assets and pay for entertainment, therefore the US has every right to investigate and prosecute the 1MDB criminals within the jurisdiction of US law.

Anonymous 2436471476414726: Nasrudin, the only reason why the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma) and Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF) are investigating and taking court action regarding the siphoning and laundering of 1MDB funds is because their banking laws had been violated.

The money is proven to be stolen from 1MDB and laundered through banks in those countries. To safeguard the integrity of their banking system, they have to take action as provided for by the laws in their respective countries.

You and your party president, Abdul Hadi Awang, must be living in caves not to understand this. DOJ’s action also includes seizure of the assets acquired using the “stolen” funds and return it to Malaysia.

Surely if you have any sense of patriotism you should appreciate such efforts but instead you attack DOJ for meddling. By your utterances, you are shielding criminals who stole the rakyat’s money.

Existential Turd: When PM Najib Razak accepted Saudi’s “donations” for supposedly “promoting Islam in Malaysia” and influence elections, that was foreign meddling.

Why didn’t PAS raise any concern then?

Anonymous #44199885: And when the leadership of the ulama-led PAS focus is not on the wrongs committed against the public but on who made the complaint and where the complaint was made, you already know that this is a party that has strayed far, far away from any religious principles and from serving the rakyat.

PAS is now a party no different from BN – a self-serving political machinery with no principles, no patriotism and no morality.

Mosquitobrain: Indeed, the once God-fearing PAS has turned into a party without principles.

So much so, to them, putting the wrong to right is also a wrong in their eyes.

PAS is quick to defend Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) saying “we” are unintelligent to summon foreign intervention in 1MDB money laundering, all because the 1MDB scandal involved their once nemesis, Umno.

What our local institutions dared not, refused or failed to do, other foreign nations are duty-bound to carry out their own investigations to uphold their financial reputation.

It is a pity PAS has chosen the wrong path for their supporters.

Shovelnose: Nasrudin, the fact of the matter is that a major fraud, if not crime, had taken place. The local authorities cannot be prodded into any investigation without being fear of being shut down.

This sort of crime does not need for a report to be lodged for an investigation to take place. You only need to follow the trail of evidence.

Meerkat: Oh, the level of PAS intellect. Malaysia hanged foreign citizens for dealing in drugs in Malaysia and told foreign governments not meddle with Malaysia’s laws. In legal terms, that is Malaysia’s right to do so.

So, when Malaysians break the laws of foreign countries and those countries take action under their own laws, it is foreign meddling. That only makes sense to PAS.

What everyone should do is to co-operate to bring MO1 to justice, as he/she has impoverished the nation. That the government and its sympathisers are defending MO1 speaks volumes of whose side they are on.

Pencuri: Nasrudin, shame on you for defending the 1MDB scandal. You brought shame not only to PAS but to your religion, country and race.

As a devout Muslim as commanded by Allah, you should train your gun at the corrupt leaders. Instead, you are defending the indefensible.

Repent before it’s too late and return to the right path. Don’t be sway by the ‘cash is king’ culture, lest you will be thrown into the lake of fire.

Basically: This is the most hilarious statement I’ve ever read. If one needs any proof these politicians have swallowed enough ‘dedak’ to clog their brains, here you have Nasrudin who outdone everyone.

Firstly, 1MDB a ‘mosquito’? It’s more like a T-Rex. Secondly, is PAS against lodging reports against a major crime now?

So much for wanting hudud to stop crime, they won’t even stop allegedly the biggest crime the world has ever seen.

And they want to implement draconian Islamic rule on the people – a sure sign their reign will turn out like Afghanistan under the Taliban or Pakistan under Mohammad Zia ul-Haq.

Frankie: “Don’t invite a bear to swat a mosquito on a deer,” said Nasrudin.

Did he just call our beloved PM a mosquito?
