Pastor Koh’s daughter: If you knew my father, you wouldn’t do this
David Dass: How sad this is – “If you knew him, you would not do this to him,” Pastor Koh’s daughter says.
These mysterious disappearances suggest that a group of well-organised people are at work. It is important for the police to get to the bottom of things.
It is hard for anyone to believe that such a well-executed abduction of the pastor left no trail. The public must be confident of the independence and professionalism of the police.
The Suhakam inquiry was proceeding well until the Uber driver was charged. Malaysians want to know what happened and who was responsible.
Clever Voter: The disappearance of a number of individuals, including Pastor Koh, brings to light the sort of rotten world we live in.
The authorities are apparently clueless. It is most surprising, especially with the resources they have, the intelligence they have access to, and best of all, the connection they enjoy.
Thus, it is not a surprise that the public would immediately point to a cover-up.
Anonymous #13571680: Elizabeth Koh, I can understand to some extent what you and your family are going through.
I had always asked myself why I am suffering when I am doing what God expects me to do. Surely, he must be protecting me from all harm that follows.
An answer was provided while I was attending mass in church. The priest said he had no definite answer to that question but offered a possible explanation which made sense to me.
He said that God has elevated us in those situations to a level higher than ordinary people so that people around us can see for themselves so as to improve themselves just like what Jesus went through.
It was then I submitted myself to God to use my suffering for his glory and purpose. Likewise, the suffering of you and your family will not be in vain.
It has definitely opened the eyes of many who otherwise would not have seen the good of God and your dad. Let’s surrender everything to God, who knows best.
Eleos: Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. And even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
One year has passed and Raymond Koh is still missing
Behsaikong: Considering that soon after the pastor’s abduction, a videotape – believed to be how it took place – became available, it is tough not just for his family but also all of us to accept that more than 12 months later, there is still no light at the end of tunnel as far as this case is concerned.
We don’t want gossips and speculations. Isn’t there something that can now be said to ensure confidence in our country’s enforcement and investigative agencies?
A Suhakam inquiry has been dramatically stopped and that must surely mean there is a new development. But there is still no further news or progress.
We, the public – worse still, the affected family – are still kept clueless.
WeareMalaysian: What happen to Malaysia? ‘Transformasi’ becomes ‘kangkong’ land.
Hplooi: ‘Kangkong’ land? I suggest this is more ominous than just ‘kangkong’ land. We do not know what lurks beneath the official obfuscation.
I shudder to think of some obvious conclusion. The government should beware of riding onto the tiger of religious extremism.
In the end, this “ism” may devour us all. Including the Peninsular Malays.
Kelantan sultan strips Husam, former MP of datukship
Worried Sick: Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan has the right to revoke titles bestowed on his subjects by him. However, if the palace can tell the people why the titles were revoked, it would really be helpful to the people.
Otherwise, there will be all sorts of speculation and that is certainly not something anyone wants.
Vijay47: Even during previous years, Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa conducted himself with dignified patience and learning during parliamentary debates, earning respect and admiration from friend and foe alike.
So now his datukship title has been withdrawn – well, like they say, the sultan gives, the sultan takes.
But looking around, we see personalities of allegedly dubious honour being bestowed with titles, the sheer number of which has reduced to abysmal levels the pride with which they were once borne.
We have alleged thugs and gangsters, cheats and thieves, charlatans and hypocrites, all wearing this badge which has lost much of its meaning and value.
Paradoxically, the recalling is a tribute to Husam. He has been set free, and no longer has to carry the burden of being numbered amongst men of dishonour and loathing.
VGV: Indeed, the stripping of the duo’s datukships by the Kelantan sultan would not make much of a difference to Husam and former Kota Bharu MP Wan Abd Rahim Wan Abdullah.
You must stick to your principles and serve the people who had voted you in. Awards can come and go, but your duty to serve the people is utmost importance.
Discovery: Was there no reasons stated as to why the datukships were withdrawn?
Anyway, I salute these two gentlemen for being so gracious in returning the award and still pledging their loyalty to the sultan.
