YOURSAY ‘The rulers’ best protectors are the constitution and the people.’

Mujahid speaks for all who dare not speak their minds

PAS MP: Un-Islamic to say monarch above criticismYoursay-mujahid Slumdog: I congratulate you, PAS’ Parit Buntar MP Mujahid Yusof Rawa, for your honesty, courage and intellect in interpreting the teachings of Islam. You speak for all those moderate Muslims who dare not voice their thoughts, opinions or speak out against the many indiscretions of Umno, its supporters and pro-Umno NGOs who falsely interpret, twist and distort the teachings of Prophet Muhammad for their self-interest.

Kim Quek: Mujahid is administering the right medicine to those who are still trapped in the feudal mindset of an age gone by.

Unfortunately, these people are numerous – thanks to the continuous brainwashing by the powers-that-be – and now form the major stumbling block to the nation’s progress towards a modern democracy.

We should have more Mujahids to speak out courageously, rationally and justly to enlighten our people, so that democracy and good governance can be more speedily restored to our land.

Malaccan: Rulers in Malaysia are institutions, not so much individuals. Being institutions defined by the constitution, they are bound to and limited by law and conventions.

These do not take away any bit of their honour or legitimacy, nor their significance. Being institutions, the rulers’ personal feelings and preferences are not to be confused with their institutional duty.

No one is beguiled by, or believes in, the self-claimed so-called protectors and defenders of the rulers who would use them for their convenience like the colonialists.

These people will as quickly abandon the rulers when it suits them too. The best protector and defender of the rulers are the constitution and the mutual respect the people have with the rulers.

Grauco: Mujahid, it’s brave of you to say it… and I won’t be surprised if you are slapped with a sedition charge.

Hang Tuah PJ: Grauco, it is obligatory of a Muslim to correct another Muslim. If Mujahid is slapped with sedition for correcting that notion, than that will be a very unIslamic act.

Remember the inspector-general of police (IGP) is very Islamic. He did not arrest the Indian convert father who kidnapped his kid because the police chief is a very ‘good’ Muslim and is ‘caught’ between the civil court and syariah court decisions.

Drngsc: Mujahid, thanks for saying this for us. It is a sensitive issue and many of us dare not tread there. Of course, we all know that only God is infallible, almighty and all wise. Not man.

I wish that those involved with the Selangor MB crisis can see that.

Negarawan: “Taking any figure as a leader who is beyond reproach, due to the leaders’ purported incapability of committing a mistake, is a grave transgression which needs to be erased.”

Absolutely right. To say that one is infallible, or has absolute wisdom, is to say that one is of divine nature.

Bumiputhran: To this day, I have yet to see what is deficient about PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (Kak Wan). Has she no right to aspire for higher public posts through due process?

Why is His Royal Highness apparently delaying in appointing her when she has met the constitutional criteria? She has gone through the various processes of public and peer group scrutiny. What more does she need to demonstrate?

GrooTheWanderer: Mujahid is a rational person. He uses his head, not heart, in making a decision. We cannot mix God up with humans. Indeed, everything today can be seditious and treasonous.

Wandering Star: After Mahathir’s honest statement that he onlysubmitted one name each time to the sultan for the appointment of an MB, that definitely blew the cover.

To the Muslims, only Allah is infallible and beyond criticisms and to the Christians, “only in our Lord we trust” we shall follow without questions.

That is why for earthly beings, we have rules, laws as guide for the rakyat and state/federal constitutions for the constitutional monarchs to abide to.

Anonymous_3faa: Obviously Mujahid is testing Umno and their goons’ interpretation of sedition. But Mujahid is absolutely right. Only God is infallible.

And all his creation, including those bemedalled in robes, are subject to human frailties. And some of the Umno goons who ascribed divine powers to such earthlings are blasphemous.

Onepen: Remember the story of a young boy who shouted, “The emperor is not wearing any clothes”?

All the members of the court said the emperor’s clothes were the finest they had seen. The public agreed with the courtesans.

The emperor was fooled into believing the flattery of his inner circle. Only the innocent boy really saw what everybody said they did not see. Sometimes real life is like that.
