Talk of no confidence vote aims to prolong crisis
DAP denies no-confidence vote against Azmin
Sleepy: The appointment of Azmin Ali as MB is constitutionally incorrect, most people understand that. I have said this before – we may have lost this battle but not the war.
While I may disagree with DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng over this issue, but I agree with his decision that “Azmin should be given solid backing to get on with the business of governing Selangor for the rakyat’s benefit and need not look over his shoulder, every time he carries out his duties”.
Bumiputhran: Lim, you are wrong in this instance. The sultan erred in circumventing the state constitution by ignoring Pakatan Rakyat’s nominee Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who demonstrated that she had the support of the majority of the state assembly.
DAP and PKR succumbed to this breach without any evidence that the majority of state assemblypersons supported Azmin. Now Guan Eng and Anwar Ibrahim should make the correction.
The sultan’s error can be mitigated by a vote of confidence for Azmin at the earliest opportunity. To remain silent is to continue the error on record.
Caesar: Everything is settled and the focus should now be on governing the state for the benefit for all Selangor rakyat.
These people are spreading rumours because they want the crisis to prolong for their selfish benefit. Azmin is appointed by sultan. Any vote of no confidence is a vote against the decision of the sultan. I don’t think Umno wants to do that.
What’s New?: Azmin, get on with governing the state, the more you entertain these sort of grandmother’s stories, the more we get entangled with unnecessary s***.
You are the new MB, get on with your job and prove all your critics wrong. You cannot go wrong if you demonstrate your administration is fair and untainted. Let your actions speak louder than words.
Fairnsquare: The enemies of Pakatan are out to destabilise it by all these rumours. The sultan went against tradition and gave an amicable solution to Selangor. Azmin has the support of all, and is in a position to bring unity to Selangor.
Siang Malam: Maybe what former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad wanted to say was “I hope there is no vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak” but accidentally mentioned Azmin’s name by mistake…
Keturunan Malaysia: In order to execute a no-confidence motion, Umno, PAS and those “Untuk dijual” (for sale) must meet behind closed doors and whisper among themselves if they really have enough numbers to start off with.
Honestly, chances are PAS may suffer the most if there is a snap election.
Fair Play: I think they are really scared to death about a prolonged delay by Azmin in the execution of the water deal and more importantly, they might as well kiss the Kidex project goodbye.
Terjah: I see that PAS is still not happy with the current situation having its excos reduced from four to three. Although the deputy speaker post will be given to PAS, the party is yet to nominate its candidate.
Overall the situation has yet to settle down. However I don’t think PAS will table a no-confidence motion.
If there is one, it will be from Umno, with silent support from PAS. But as they do not have enough majority, it will be futile effort.
Appum: I think we shouldn’t take blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin too seriously.
The new RPK could be an imposter. He must have kidnapped the real and original Raja Petra and imprisoned him somewhere and has taken over his identity. You know how truth can be stranger than fiction sometimes.
B Lee: Nobody believes in Raja Petra anymore. Don’t waste time on him. Anyway, Azmin is from PKR so it doesn’t matter whether he or Wan Azizah is MB as long it’s not from BN or PAS. Now Azmin just needs to prove his ability to all Selangorians. Don’t let us down.
Myop101: Fellow commentators, why are you attacking Raja Petra? Didn’t you know he has already stated clearly that he will support Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali because he has been selected by the sultan?
More importantly, what Raja Petra did was expose possible moves to remove Azmin. There will be no smoke if there is no fire.
All other factions in PKR who are elected to the Selangor state assembly should also declare their resolute support for Azmin as the new MB for Selangor.
So it is not right to attack Raja Petra but the source of these rumours. As for Azmin, just do what you are supposed to do. Govern the state of Selangor properly.
Mamadias: When it suited them, PKR and DAP used Raja Petra’s write-ups against Umno and BN. Now they ask us not to listen to him. What hypocrites they are.
Thana55: Raja Petra and Mahathir just want to create problems. Raja Petra discredited himself long ago. Now his credibility is zilch.
Anonymous #07903560: Who is this Raja Petra? I have forgotten this man a long time ago. And I used to be one of his ardent followers.
