Another custodial death, but expect ‘NFA’
Coroner: Police to blame for Sugumar’s death
It is always the unfortunate victims who are accused of being the aggressor, of resisting arrest and of attacking the police with weapons that appear from thin air.
The whole police culture has to change, but this won’t happen until hell freezes over.
Malaysia Ku: So many unlawful deaths whilst in police hands and yet the home minister and IGP show absolutely no interest and concern.
Human lives to them are mere digits in their NFA (no further action) files.
Kangkung: The 1Malaysia IGP is busy going after Twitter users and university students, and the actual criminals are having a gala time on the streets. So are the Islamic State (IS) terrorists. What a shame.
Anonymous_3f6d: What is MIC going to do about this custodial death?
My Opinion: Charge those responsible for manslaughter. The IGP has to pay compensation for the police negligence. But please compensate the victim’s family using the police funds and not taxpayers’ money.
Senior: Are the men in blue bothered? An Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) is needed even if the home minister is on their side.
MacMac: This is legalised murder and yet no one gets punished. The attorney-general will not move an inch on this coroner’s verdict.
Anonymous #559621516: This is indeed brutality at its worst.
Firestone: Bank Negara Malaysia must come clean and explain the real reason for the ringgit becoming ‘shringgit’!
Why is its value depreciating in a free-fall manner against the US dollar? Please do not keep any secrets from the people.
Grey Matter: The market does not recognise the nation’s fundamentals as highlighted by Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
The fact that Bank Negara has allowed the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) loan to not be classified as default, itself shows the integrity of the central bank.
If Bank Negara is to intervene and believes in its own bull, why did it not support the currency which is supposedly underpinned by strong fundamentals?
The market is afraid of the mismanagement of the economy and the dark cloud over 1MDB. Please tell the truth to the nation. This is not about politics, it’s about our future as a nation.
CQ Muar: Zeti, please enlighten us as to how all those millions and billions had been siphoned out of the country by all those high-profile people without being noticed, interrogated and exposed?
Isn’t it constitutionally a law for anyone to declare, state its purpose and fill-in the prescribed forms in order to transfer money in bulk out of the country?
Failing to do so is against the law and illegal, which is constituted as or tantamount to money laundering? Surely, it isn’t a case of “close one eye” and “you scratch my back, and I yours”?
Come on, we have the right to know as rightful citizens of this country. Nothing personal, just curious.
TehTarik: The best Central Bank governor in Asia, Zeti, has said that the ringgit is undervalued. And that Malaysia’s economy is one of the strongest and most resilient in Asia.
It is obvious that there are hidden hands trying to weaken the ringgit. Let’s all stand firmly behind Zeti and believe what she said. After all, she is the expert.
Final Count Down: Why did you folks keep electing a corrupt government? The worst is yet to come. Put on your safety belt, prepare for a crash landing.
Mamba: Kampung folks don’t even need a passport. Fuel price is down, Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) money is coming, the low exchange rate does not touch their livelihood very much, so why worry?
