Rosmah and Maria, a tale of two women and their awards
Rosmah used private jet to receive award in Istanbul, claims Rafizi
Pemerhati: The Bernama report dated March 16, 2015 says, “JPM said, in addition to the ACJ319 and ACJ320, the government executive aircraft fleet included smaller planes namely the Falcon acquired in 1989 and the Global Express in 2001.”
A few others were not mentioned in the report. JPM is the acronym for the Prime Minister’s Department and ACJ is the acronym for the Airbus Corporate Jetliner.
In a parliamentary reply in November 2013, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim revealed that the government spent RM14.95 million for fuel and RM160.08 million in maintenance for VVIP flights in 2012.
The expenditure since then is likely to have risen significantly. It is shocking that the ruling politicians and other leaders and their families in a third world country like Malaysia waste the people’s money on luxurious travel by using private jets.
The money could have been used for the benefit of the people, such as building toll-free roads and other badly needed infrastructure.
Benghazi: What’s so important about the award in Istanbul that warrants the PM’s wife to use a private jet ostensibly paid by Malaysian taxpayers?
In the case of Bersih chief Maria Chin Abdullah, the BN regime barred her from going to South Korea to received her award even when she was paying the trip from her own pockets. Despicable government leaders.
YHJ: Indeed, Maria bought her own air ticket but was barred from leaving the country to receive a prestigious award in South Korea.
Yet Rosmah is said to have hired a private jet to take her to Istanbul to receive an award?
Jaycee: This really makes me sick to my stomach. You would think that with the 1MDB debacle, these people would be cautious when it comes to spending public funds.
Nothing of that sort. There is a total blatant disregard for the rakyat. Only a narcissistic person would do something like this.
This also goes to proof that no one is looking out for the rakyat, except for the opposition. Thank you, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, for your tireless work in exposing the culprits.
Gajibuta: The Malays will wake up when this place becomes like Venezuela. Over there, people only started to make noise when they suffered electricity rationing, salary cuts and recently, medicine shortage.
Let’s wait and see the tolerance limit here. Could it be higher?
FellowMalaysian: I bet it’s the Arab sheikhs from UAE at work this time.
Knowing her enormous contribution, which is known throughout the world, needless to say sponsoring her private jet journey to accept a most illustrious award was the least the kingdom could do.
After all, she needs the space of a whole 19-seater jet plane to accommodate her entourage.
CQ Muar: What a time to waste public funds when the country is in turmoil with financial and economic problems.
With the twin by-elections next week, our prime minister’s wife is traveling in style allegedly at the expense of the rakyat.
Please take note, all good voters from Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar. Do not support this government with a leader like Najib Razak and his high-living and extravagant wife.
1Citizen: Come on people, like the attorney-general, Rosmah is doing a great service for the nation. Let both of them enjoy the accolades and the privileges which they richly deserve.
Anonymous 1034721438846003: The teacher says the Malaysia PM is greater than god because the conventions and constitution have given him all the power he needs to manage the country and spend anything he desires.
It is impossible to change the constitution because of the issue of ‘ketuanan Melayu’. The moment anyone tries to shake the tree, you will see the Umno red army – Perkasa, Isma, Ali Tinju, Ridhuan Tee Abdullah and others – come out to defend the PM in the name of Islam and the Malay race.
Restless: Rafizi, come GE14, please make sure the opposition parties compile a collection of the corruption and the stupid and irresponsible statements made by ministers/officials of public and statutory bodies that have taken place throughout the years.
This is so that the crimes and abuses by the kleptocracy can be magnified to serve as a reminder to the rakyat.
Mushiro: These kleptomaniacs will keep on spending until kingdom come. They are not bothered about the Auditor-General’s Report, the Public Accounts Committee’s report and the 1MDB scandal.
As always, Umno will be there to blindly support them.
Tchoon: It will be interesting to have superstar Rosmah make an appearance in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar, and engage the audience with the infamous “are you ready…”.
Must make it twice so that the response can be undoubtedly clear.
Headhunter: Goodness gracious, Rafizi. How can you expect Rosmah to fly by MAS? It’s just like asking the Queen of England to take a cruise on a fishing boat.
