Not so fast, Nazri can’t disown Jamal this easily
Jamal doesn’t represent Umno, says Nazri
Vijay47: You might be right there, Tourism Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, that Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos does not represent Umno. The real question however should be, “Does Umno represent Jamal Yunus?”
You seem to want your cake and eat it too – you piously claim that he does not represent your party but at the same time, none of you, especially that prime minister who is also your Umno president or his sidekick, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, have said a word to condemn his shameful criminal actions which is drawing the country closer and closer to anarchy.
And of course, we cannot expect anything from that inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar who somehow is able to see only alleged transgressions of opposition members.
Then again, perhaps you view Jamal with some affection since he perhaps reminds you of your son.
Hang Babeuf: “Jamal doesn’t represent Umno,” says Nazri. He just dictates to Umno – by imposing his crazy ideas and will on its leaders. Things are much worse than you claim, or pretend, Nazri!
SusahKes: Well, for a person who you deem doesn’t represent Umno, he sure enjoys the many benefits bestowed on Umno members, wouldn’t you say?
For example, Jamal appears pretty much untouchable, no matter how often he has pressed the button marked “extreme actions”.
Umno manufactured the mould; the factory went into high gear production during Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s time; but now, under PM Najib Razak’s tenure, it is a thriving full-time work-horse belting it out on three shifts daily.
And from that conveyor belt, out came Jamal, endorsed with Umno’s rubber stamp that proudly states, “Kualiti Bermutu”.
RR: If what Nazri is saying is true, then why hasn’t the police not remanded and charged Jamal under the Sedition Act and Umno not expelled him?
At the same time, others are charged for sedition for their slightest slip of tongue. Nazri, you are a lawyer, please don’t bulls**t us.
Rupert16: Yes, the inaction of the police against Jamal, despite the violence shown by him and his supporters plus his continuous threats to provoke and use violence, tells us otherwise.
As a lawyer, Nazri should have known better.
Anonymous #37634848: Jamal ‘Jamban’ Yunos is an Umno leader. He has misbehaved repeatedly in public and has become a threat to public peace.
Why not reprimand him? Mahathir was sacked by Tunku Abdul Rahman for writing an open letter against him.
This Sungai Besar Umno chief is misbehaving and threatening peace and public order. He should be expelled from Umno.
Yahoo: Umno is responsible for its members. Even with football, if the fans misbehaved, the club concerned can be reprimanded or fined.
Jamal has openly threatened the public. Why no admonition from the authorities or from Umno?
Rafizi’s NGO ropes in ex-Obama aide to help win next GE
Frank: Syabas, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli. As for the very last paragraph on cash incentives for voter registration, people such as Maria Chin Abdullah from Bersih 2.0 and Cynthia Gabriel of C4 need to open up their eyes as wide as possible and possibly also look with their mind’s eye that in corrupt Malaysia, one needs to be realistic.
Malaysia, in various aspects, is not like the developed countries, or even some progressive developing countries. In those countries, people know what they are doing even when they fail to vote.
Here, many Malaysians are like… Well, you fill in the blanks yourselves. Do stop the ‘syok sendiri’ – but all the rallies, forums, etc, would not amount to anything when more than four million people eligible to vote have yet to register.
Clever Voter: This is easier said than done. Voters’ behaviour swings from year to year. In some places, a RM5 will suffice.
Also the value of a vote in Damansara is worth one tenth that of Putrajaya’s. There is no need for analytics.
Opposition parties, put aside your egos and agree on one-to-one fights. Politicians from both sides lack sophistication. Their inflated image takes the better of them. Sadly, these are what we have. Therefore, the selection of candidates is important.
Amateur: Surprisingly, NGO Invoke supports principled politicians regardless of their parties, without considering the merits of their political platform.
What happen to politicians who have been upholding the principles of cronyism and corruption? By Invoke’s aforementioned simple policy, they could get support.
Robbed!!: Before the authorities come down hard on Invoke, does former Barack Obama aide Andrew Claster have a valid work permit? BN will twist this to say this is foreign interference.
JD Lovrenciear: Is Najib is going to have a private word with Obama now that you have roped in the latter’s resource?
