RM55b for ECRL, but no money for blood tests?
JB hospital stops accepting tests over ‘national funds shortage’
Patriot1: Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru has no funds to do blood tests? I thought we just signed a RM55 billion deal with China to build the East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) and buy warships from them?
Roger 5201: Tests are critical for proper diagnosis, so why are there no funds to pay for the reagents? Time for another Saudi donation top-up?
Anonymous 2441811478183768: First the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang has this problem, and now HSA. The government is still in denial that all is not well.
Thickskin: If the tests do not affect the patients, shouldn’t all hospitals in Malaysia stop doing renal and liver function tests from now on to save money for the purchase of Birkin handbags, which are critical for ‘someone’?
Just Sharing: No money for poor patients but there is money to pay for 1MDB chief Arul Kanda’s “meals” in Sydney. Again, it’s the ‘Rakyat didahulukan’ (people first) to suffer.

Democrat: Building that RM55 billion train link is a ‘rail’ waste – we need money for healthcare. We should borrow money for healthcare and not to build wasteful projects.
Anonymous #28648954: Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said hospitals in Sabah are not affected? Bulls**t!
Dear DG, why don’t you come to Sabah yourself and check out the real situation.
Anonymous 2401191456463140: The RM4 billion budget under 2017 for supply of medical consumables can never be enough if the procurement process reeks of corruption and cronyism.
We sincerely request for a transformation in this area.
Ericlcc: The bulk of allocations is already going to pay the salaries and allowances of a bloated civil service. There is therefore not enough to buy supplies and pay for overtime and travelling.
ABC123: The money is there. It’s just not going to the right places.
It’s like a gush of water. Before it can flow down, corruption and greed have siphoned off most of it and any remainder is drained out by incompetence. What’s left is just a trickle.
Watan: If a lackey like ex-BSI banker Yeo Jiawei at 32 could earned US$4 million just for acting as agent for money laundering, just imagine how much money had been laundered in total, and that is just for one scheme.
I bet we have more than just one scheme.
Headhunter: Corruption has sucked up all of the rakyat’s money. Now they are even selling the country piecemeal.
The worst traitors in the country are those who are involved in corruption and those who protect and cover up for them.
Gaji Buta: With the ringgit plunging, all costs will only go up further. So, the worst is yet to come. One day, government hospitals will be scrapped and everyone will be on medical insurance, like in the US.
Anonymous #19098644: Indeed, the rakyat’s health and well-being are being short-changed and compromised while we spend billions on warships from China we don’t need.
We have fires in the general hospital in Ipoh and Johor Bahru due to poor or lack of maintenance, while this government is busy signing an overpriced contract of RM55 billion to build the East Coast railway.
Our universities are starved of funding and our students and children suffer while the BN government squanders the country’s wealth.
Now the sick can’t even have pathological tests because the hospitals do not the funds. Let Umno and BN beware of the rakyat’s anger yet to be felt, like what has happened in the US and UK.
Anonymous 2410591459862040: BN supporters, can you see what is happening with the leaders you support? There is not enough money for government hospitals.
Tracking the East Coast Rail Line
Chipmunk: This is absurd. From the PM to the transport minister, nobody knows the actual length of the rail track and the cost seem to even differ greatly.
Are they using gold to build the tracks so much so that it cost RM91.67 million per kilometre?
Donplaypuks: We must also remember that the ECRL will not see high-speed trains travelling at 300km/hr. So, no way can 600km cost RM55 billion or $92 million/km.
A similar rail project – the 197km Gemas-Johor Bahru line – cost about RM32 million/km. So, it’s obvious Najib and his ministers, Liow Tiong Lai and Abdul Rahman Dahlan, etc, from Umno-BN are trying to con us again, like they did with 1MDB, which is now saddled with RM53 billion in debt.
The Analyser: You can’t get much more Malaysian than this. Irrational, impulsive, poorly planned, dishonest, inaccurate, and corrupt.
This is just another in a long list of Malaysian hoaxes designed as a cover-up to save face.
