YOURSAY | ‘Let’s investigate all politicians perceived to be living beyond their means.’

Will Jamal take a copter ride to expose Umno bigwigs’ wealth?

MACC, LHDN reports to be filed against rich PKR Youth leader

RichPKRyouthyour say1Vijay47: Ampang Umno division chief Ismail Kijo and red-shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos, I will agree with you that as there is a perception that a monstrosity of a building painful to the eyes could have been acquired through, as they say, ill-gotten gains, an investigation is due.

For sure, politics must be rid of corruption. But why stop at Mickey’s palace, let us go the whole hog and investigate all politicians perceived to be living beyond their means.

The inquiry by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should not be restricted to ugly structures only, it should include misuse of government facilities and offensive flaunting of handbags costing an Arab prince’s ransom.

Which reminds me, unlikely donations from mythical Arabs should also attract LHDN-MACC’s scrutiny.

If aerial views were required of Umno leaders, we would need the A380. Maybe all that Emirates has.

Headhunter: Two can play the same game. Ampang PKR Youth leader Adam Rosly should do the same and report Jamal to the MACC as well as getting LHDN to find out how much tax he paid. After all, he’s been splashing his money as well, and boasted to the whole world about it.

Don’t stop at him. Investigate all ministers, politicians, their cronies and bag carriers. These days, you don’t need a helicopter to view their houses and other properties.

Use a drone and every detail would be fully exposed. The opposition should initiate this before they make it illegal.

Spinning: Stupid is as stupid does. Where did Jamal get the money to charter a helicopter? Please investigate his source of income.

CQ Muar: Jamal has started it all and set the ball rolling. Thus MACC and LHDN should henceforth investigate all those Umno ministers and leaders who are living luxuriously beyond their reported means. Do not leave any stone unturned unless their ill-gotten wealth is declared and verified.

This includes the ‘ikan bakar’ operator, Jamal, who could afford to ‘splash’ freely organising counter-rallies against Bersih.

This should be fair to all regardless of rank, race and position. MACC must be seen as an independent institution free from any influence and favouritism. Only then can MACC deserve to earn our respect.

Kangkung: MACC and LHDN, what has happened to the many reports on Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) and his wife?

MO1 allegedly spent US$15 million on holidays, shopping and jewellery while his wife allegedly went on a US$6 million shopping spree at London’s Harrods department store, Saks Fifth Avenue of New York and elsewhere.

MACC and LHDN, the rakyat know how super efficient you are with people connected to the opposition, but we are interested to know when you are going to investigate MO1 and his wife?

Goldee: Please also report about the RM2.6 billion which allegedly went into someone’s personal account and whether he paid tax, too.

Donation to a party can be tax exempted but not to personal accounts. So how?

The Analyser: Rich he might be. As for taste, he has none.

So what if I’m rich, PKR Youth leader asks Jamal

Ipohcrite: If your wealth comes from mysterious Arabs in the form of a donation, I believe you’ll not be in any trouble with MACC or LHDN.

But don’t take my view as professional advice because it’s not; you do so at your own peril.

Existential Turd: First of all, they don’t care how much or how little Adam paid for the house, they will use ‘market value’. Just look at Lim Guan Eng.

Secondly, no evidence, no problem, just sling mud, some will hopefully stick. Thirdly, only Umno sons and daughters are allowed to get rich by inheritance.

Nes: Adam, we’ll give you the benefit of doubt that your father and you are businessmen and make tonnes of money.

But datukship at 28? It seems like we have scoundrels on both sides of the divide.

Pemerhati: Quote: “Adam clarified that the bungalow at Kampung Melayu Ampang was actually an abandoned property that he purchased at auction, for about RM1 million.”

Adam has to give a detailed explanation as to how at or before the age of 28 he got the money to purchase the RM1 million property and then renovate it.

If he does not do that, then people are likely to think that politicians in Umno and PKR are not very different and are equally corrupt.

If that happens then the main incentive for people to vote for the opposition will be lost.

Lord Denning: Indeed, Adam should answer Jamal and voters with facts. Where did he get his wealth? What contributions did he make to society to deserve his datukship? How has he distinguished himself to earn his wealth and title?

Anonymous 2408551459232350: Lord Dennning, fret not, after this, the MACC, LHDN and the mighty Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will all be investigating and the brilliant attorney-general (AG) will personally charge him, and with lightning speed, too.

Wong Fei Hoong: Adam, Jamal allegedly got his wealth from selling ikan bakar since he was one year old. So all in all he can afford a Vellfire. Now he also allegedly got ‘dedak’ (animal feed) that helps him to accumulate his wealth.

Senior: People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. But then he’s an Umnoputra in command of red-shirts.

MacMac: Buying a house cheap is an offence in Malaysia, paying overprice is the norm.
