MCA has only itself to blame if hudud bill passe
MCA Wanita reminds MPs they are people’s reps, not ‘Muslim reps’
Anonymous #19098644: This is one of the few times that an MCA leader has correctly hit the nail on the head and is absolutely correct.
Congratulations, it has been a long time since I heard anything relevant from them until now.
Anonymous Hotplate: MCA Wanita chairperson Heng Seai Kie, it’s too late to cry now. You supported Malaysian Official 1(MO1) and his team of racists.
The only cure is for MCA, MIC, Gerakan and other BN parties to quit BN. Don’t be afraid to lose your MP’s posts or the ‘dedak’.
Even without being an MP, you can still serve the people like what Bersih leaders Maria Chin Abdullah and S Ambiga are doing.
Vision2020: When a monk, priest or ulama imposes his or her religion in public space, the monk, priest or ulama must accept public discourse and criticism since it affects the peace and harmony of our multiracial society and create potential insensitivity and intolerance, as well as a potential disrespectful of the minorities who practice other religions.
A good government must be just and fair to the minorities and not discriminate them in our democratic society, which is not a theological society.
Baldev Singh: I agree that MPs are the people’s representatives. Please resign from BN and ask MO1 to be charged for corruption. That is the right thing to do, but MCA won’t do it.
SusahKes: Really, Heng? But we were under the impression that MCA were more like Umno’s representatives than they are wakil rakyat.
But please, do not blame us for our perception; in fact, I won’t be surprised after the outcome of the bill debate – whichever way it goes – that MCA will still remain in bed with Umno.
Will MCA president Liow Tiong Lai still make good his threat of resigning from the cabinet? What would MCA say to its constituents when Umno has, for all intents and purposes, ignored MCA in the run-up to this bill?
Shame on you if MCA remains in the cabinet; but shame on me if I continue to buy your tall tale of being a ‘wakil rakyat’.
Ericlcc: Should the bill come to pass, I am sure the MCA president and other MCA cabinet appointees will not resign, because the threat to do so was in regard to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s original bill.
However this threat to resign does not apply to Hadi’s amended version. So it’s still okay to stay on in the cabinet. No moral ground lost. It’s a win-win – Umno wins, MCA wins. They can still cavort in bed with the devil.
RCZ: Dear Heng, talk is cheap, and where Umno is concerned, of absolutely no effect.
‘MCA, MIC, G’kan, SUPP should quit BN to protest Hadi’s bill’
Aries46: I often wondered why MCA is obsessed with and ceaselessly blaming DAP for Hadi’s hudud bill when it is common knowledge that not only DAP, but the entire opposition and 51 percent of the voters were hoodwinked by Hadi’s ‘PAS for All’ slogan in GE13.
MCA keeps blaming DAP even as Umno facilitated the bill in Kelantan and now in Parliament.
Apparently, MCA foresaw that Umno-BN’s survival in the aftermath of the GE13 drubbing and that of a splintered PAS following its ejection from Pakatan Rakyat depended on the hudud bogey to get the Malay voters to fall in line – as clearly played out in the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar ‘buy-elections’.
And MCA would then be consigned to the receiving end to face the voters’ scorn and rejection.
So it has made DAP the scapegoat on the premise ‘a lie repeated often enough will become the truth’. When the bill was tabled in May, in bravado MCA leaders had threatened to resign if Umno went ahead with it.
The litmus test now stares at their faces. Let us see what Liow comes up with this time around.
Anonymous #69337042: MCA, Gerakan, MIC and SUPP are all hypocritical and they are not free from complicity in turning the country into such a bad shape today.
Gerakan Youth chief Andy Yong should have condemned both Umno and PAS for mixing religion with politics instead of accusing the church for supporting Bersih earlier.
No-brainer: Umno has no respect for all BN’s mosquito parties such as MCA, MIC, Gerakan and others from Sarawak and Sabah.
Umno just does what it wants. These mosquito parties have no morals, no integrity, no dignity, no shame and no guts to stand up to Umno.
Besides, these mosquito parties are also being led by shameless, unscrupulous, selfish, greedy leaders who think of themselves, their self-glory and self-benefit.
All said and done, they are just waiting for crumbs and titbits to be thrown to them by Umno, and they have no say at all in the daily affairs of the government.
Zaphil: These BN components just ‘wayang’. I agree with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng that they must leave BN now, as they have been treated as non-existent.
Ericlcc: See how Umno can fool other BN parties by doling out a few cabinet posts for their leaders, and the whole party will fall in line.
When it comes down to a vote, I am pretty sure these MPs from MCA, Gerakan, MIC and other mosquito parties will absent themselves.
And they have the gall to quickly blame DAP for encouraging Hadi to table his bill.
Anonymous #69337042 Just look at those shameless people in MCA and the like. They are there all for self-benefit and ‘shiok sendiri’ titles, such as the ones carried by Umno leaders Tajuddin Ramli and Jamal Md Yunos.
They should feel ashamed for having such titles, because they do not live up to the expectation of the public.
MalaysianCowsCanFly: Leave BN? Where do you expect parasites to go after leaving the host? Another host?
