Umno should have more faith in Nazri
Umno man worries debate may negatively impact party
Annonymous: Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman says the April 7 debate between his party colleague Nazri Abdul Aziz and former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad may negatively impact Umno.
Indeed, when Umno is so clean and has done no wrong, how can a debate “negatively” impact Umno?
I thought Nazri said he was the “minister” (meaning, all powerful and mighty) and Mahathir was just a “retired” PM, and Nazri doesn’t fear a 90-year-old “senile” man?
Clever Voter: Tajuddin could be right. A debate won’t do any good to the image of Umno. But what could be any worse than where Umno is now? Why is he afraid of his colleague’s tell-all approach?
The debate could be an anti-climax, for how much more do we need to know? Public opinion is negative on 1MDB and will probably worsen as time moves on.
As long as they are in power, they are safe. As a beneficiary of the rent-seeking culture, Tajuddin is concerned about his future of his rice bowl.
As long as nothing is spilled, they don’t have to worry.
Gotcha: Is Tajuddin so worried that any wrongdoings of Umno might be exposed at the debate? If there is nothing wrong, then why worry so much? Please proceed with the debate.
Chokstone: Nazri’s debate on topics including 1MDB would look like a sabotage of MO1 (Malaysian Official 1), because there is no way to run away from the facts, and any tricky tactic to sway from reality would only invite shame to himself.
The debate would benefit the opposition if it is live telecast on TVI, TV3 and the Umno-controlled media.
However, this is also the best chance for Umno to discredit Mahathir by focusing only on a certain portion of the debate, and therefore destroy his credibility.
Concern Ctzen: Yes, why so worried, since 1MDB has nothing to hide, right?
RCZ: Has Umno no faith in their big-mouthed Nazri? It seems that way, and it seems they don’t trust him to protect his leaders.
The Analyser: Tajuddin said, “This depends on what will take place … if they hurl accusations at each other, surely it is not going to bring positive effect.”
As I have said all along, this ‘debate’ will degenerate into a shambles unless it is organised and controlled like a formal debate, with a strictly controlled agenda and a controlling chair.
There is no evidence that this will happen. So, there is every chance it well end up as the usual Malaysian flick-up, a disorganised pair of nutters screaming and ranting at each other with one thing in mind… the protection of their own egos.
Final score, Nazri, 0; Mahathir, 0 – Malaysia: -25
Anonymous_1388029052: Tajuddin obviously hasn’t got much brains.
To us, Umno is already rotten to the core and the name is tainted. The debate can’t possibly make it worse.
Police reports filed against Annuar over ‘is Kit Siang racist?’ contest
RightsForAll: Umno information chief Annuar Musa is a disgraced politician caught with his pants down over the Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) fiascos, trying to get himself back in the overlord’s good graces by organising ridiculous “competitions”.
Anonymous 2447171479801729: Confident people put across their reasons to prove their points, they never need to put others down to lift themselves up.
It is people who cannot handle what is right about their opponents that keep looking out for opportunities to criticise just so they can have the feelings of “superiority” to hide their own insecurities.
This kind of narcissist dysfunctional personalities lack the intellect to recognise that by blowing out his opponents’ candle won’t make his shine brighter, but instead showing up his own weaknesses and poor character.
The person who always look out for opportunities to run down DAP and the Chinese and pretend to have a “superior” mindset may think highly of himself, not knowing that there are many silent readers here have seen him through.
Gotcha: Brainless people can say anything. It’s a disgrace to the party Umno to have such people.
It looks like Umno leaders have nothing better to say, except to constantly bring up racial and religious matters to gain support in view of fading support from the rakyat.
I want to tell Annuar, the rakyat are not as stupid as he.
Thirdeye: When politicians have nothing good to offer the rakyat to ease the rakyat’s daily burden, they resort to petty arguments, childish behaviour to side track the public.
The sign of a failing and fading politician is to create some cheap publicity, hoping to be seen as still relevant to the party and his supporters.
Annuar is on his way out from Umno’s leadership team, so DAP shouldn’t help him to survive.
PMO: It’s good that former law minister Zaid Ibrahim is now offering RM10,000 for an essay on Najib Razak being the country’s “worst prime minister“.
This will hit back at Annuar’s boss. Think before opening your mouth, please.
