Holy Roller: So, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Razali Ibrahim wants to take the Royal Malaysian Police’s (PDRM) 1MDB investigation slowly, and treat it like we treat everything in this country, with a generous helping of “tidak apa”? And not forgetting a petition to the heavens that all will be sorted out in the end?

Makes sense, because we all know how the investigation will turn out anyway. No need to ask God for the answer.

Anonymous 242641505703475: Razali was quoted as saying, “The truth will be revealed”. Really? Or will the report will be hidden under the Official Secrets Act 1972 (OSA)?

Please note, Razali, that Singapore is more efficient than Malaysia – it has already shut down two banks, as well as fined or jailed some bankers.

But here, we will wait for five years, 10 years, or more until 1MDB is forgotten!

Drngsc: Dear Razali, the investigation is so slow that it is standing still. Many foreign investigations, like those conducted by our good neighbour, have even resulted in guilty verdicts and punishment for the crime. That cannot be one-sided.

This 1MDB scandal is indefensible. Trying to defend it only makes you lose all credibility.

Rick Teo: Our police, who are investigating this case, are very inefficient. Other countries like Singapore, the US, and Switzerland have already completed their investigations and charged the culprits, yet we are still investigating.

Honestly, there is not a single sane, honest, or sensible politician left in Umno. Another five years of them and we will all be doomed.

Razali: Wait for the police probe into MACC chief

Anonymous 1719401496919916: In response to DAP MP Teo Nie Ching’s question, there is no need to probe further. We all know what the answer will be. No further action, case closed, no wrongdoing found. Why waste time and taxpayers’ money in Malaysia?

Anonymous_40f4: The probe will go on and on and on. Police will send “findings” to the attorney-general (AG), then the AG will send it back to MACC, and MACC will send it back to the police, then the police will send it back to MACC, and the shameful wayang goes on and on.

Only a change of government can bring some sanity and justice to this country.

Slumdog: This charade has been going on for a month now. This is a very simple investigation and there is no need to procrastinate. A half-competent junior investigator would have completed the investigation by now.

Can you imagine the future prospects of those MACC officers if they find their boss guilty?

Why pinch when I can punch?

David Dass: Cartoonist Zulkiflee Anwar Ulhaque, better known as Zunar, is right. There is no point in us having so many universities if our people are not allowed, or encouraged to think. It is through public debate and discourse that people can be better informed.

Policies which are formulated and laws enacted after rigorous public scrutiny and debate will better serve the interests of the nation. The creative intellect flourishes in an environment that allows freedom of conscience and freedom of expression. It withers and dies when we are not allowed to think or express our thoughts and views freely.

We have so many colleges and universities but hardly hear the voices of our intellectuals from academia.

AL 7718: I have my highest respect for Zunar who sees something wrong with our country and uses his talent to do his best to right it.

BTN: Look, open your eyes and ears. Even a cartoonist like Zunar can reason and explain what is right and wrong in this country better than most of our MPs.

Anonymous 2413471460628504: If more of us were like Zunar, Malaysia would be in a much better place today. The ability to question and to see the other side of the coin stands us in good stead, not just on justice, morality, religion but in all types of knowledge there is in this world.

A man who does not question, will not be able to innovate. A government that stifles the thoughts of its citizens is not just merely suppressing dissent but development too.

We are left waiting for the “king” to tell us what to do, how to do, what to think, when to think. They then expect the country to be able to compete globally. They think they are just merely keeping themselves in power, when they are in fact “killing” the country.
