A Town Hall meeting was organised by Selangor Action Team and Suaram with the Tamil Activist and Leaders of the Klang District in Selangor, Malaysia.

Mr Manicka Vasagar, an envoy of TGTE  and Suaram Chairperson Mr K. Arumugam,  addressed the meeting. Mr Manicka Vasagar explained the role of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam, and it’s progress with the engagement with the international community and  the current situation in the North and East.

Mr Arumugam in his welcoming address praised Malaysia for visible changes in foreign policy towards Sri Lanka. He expressed his hope that with the formation of the Parliament Caucus on Sri Lanka, Malaysia has lot more to do for regional conflict resolution and addressing of human right violations.

The interaction with the local Tamil Community included question and answer session, and it further highlighted the demand for a permanent political solution for Tamil Eelam.

It is anticipated that further such meetings will be organised in other districts in Malaysia.
