YOURSAY ‘Ruslan, you meant every word you uttered. Don’t try to change the story.’
‘Chop heads’ a figure of speech, says Perkasa man
CHKS: Perkasa information chief Ruslan Kassim, you can’t just back pedal and claim that your intent determines your content. Your content always determine your intent.
If you intend your sentence to be a figure of speech, you say it upfront that it is a figure of speech. Otherwise everyone could also say anything under the sun using the pretext of “figure of speech”.
Can I also say that the Federal Court decision to deny the Catholic Church leave to appeal over the ‘Allah’ word is only a figure of speech?
David Dass: Who are these people who speak like this? Why do we allow them so much space? These are not like the Malays I have known all my life.
The Malays I have known and know are always gracious and polite. Most are devout Muslims and their faith is quiet, private and is reflected in the way they talk and behave.
These ruffians who threaten to chop of heads and kill those they think or say insult Islam or the sultans should be restrained. No one should be allowed to threaten to do things which are wrong in law.
If there are people who insult Islam or the sultans, let them be investigated by the police, arrested and charged. As should anyone who insults any other faith or adherents of any other faith.
We are a nation under the rule of law. We have the police and the courts to enforce the law. We should not allow mobs to take the law into their own hands. We must not give them the impression that violence is permissible in any circumstance for we are a civilised society where the rule of law prevails.
Takeiteasy: If Ruslan continues to talk rubbish, I will get someone to cut off his tongue to feed to the dog. Oh, sorry if you feel you are being insulted. It is a figure of speech and what I mean is to ask you to shut up.
Kangkung: Ruslan, you meant every word you uttered. Don’t try to change the story. It was hate speech with the intention to incite violence/murder. But you have nothing to worry as you belong to a pro-Umno NGO.
Single Malt: So ‘chop heads’ is a figure of speech, but ‘celaka’ is seditious.
Whatshappenning: How can it be a figure of speech? We are not idiots to be fooled. The way Ruslan spoke was full of fire and fury, and why did he implicate the Selangor sultan?
And the best part is that these Malay groups will always make use of the sultan’s name to protect themselves and say they are protecting the sultan.
Quigonbond: If the public prosecutors are stupid enough to keep accepting lame reasons from Perkasa’s constant ‘figure of speeches’, instead of rightfully acting on them as inciting violence under Penal Code provisions, they should accord the same treatment to all Malaysians.
Because right now, some random person can urge the public to lynch Perkasa leaders and drive a stake through their torsos and call that figures of speech too, to express his/her intellectual disgust for them.
Liujinzhong: If only these guys can issue threats with speeches like that against those suspected of corruption and abuse of power.
As self-proclaimed protectors of the Malays they think they are above the law. They dictate terms to authorities and they call others “parasites”, “kurang ajar”, “pengkhianat”… terms which can be aptly applied to themselves.
Malaysianlah: There they go again… twisting and turning. Do you still trust people like this, the ones who always don’t meant what they say? Coward of the highest order.
In this country, treatening to hurt or kill someone else is not an offence because these are the people who take advantage of the authorities’ selective prosecution.
Appum: You’re right. Those in the constituencies of these PAS lawmakers are mostly Malay Muslims. Why do you think the Malay Muslims voted for them and not for the likes of you?
Odysseus: Please don’t go around ‘killing’ the political lives of others when you do not have any left in you. Remember that you were not even good enough to be nominated to stand for election and the others lost badly.
You need to stoop so low to gain attention even at the expense of causing disruption and threats to peace in this country. Please go get a life instead.
RKR: All these fools are a confused lot. In one breath they say kill that fella, behead this fella, join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and in another breath they say we are peace-loving people.
Kit P: Seputeh MP Teresa Kok was charged with sedition for a humorous video. If this urging by Perkasa for decapitation is not acted upon by the police, it will be a most ridiculous situation.
Labis Guy: Mr Prime Minister, do something otherwise those people with a bit of grey matter inside them will keep on saying offensive things and then they will reverse what they said when a police report is made.
Without these so-called “people”, Malaysia would be a wonderful country to live in.
Peacemaker: Ask him to go tell that to the judge when they charge him with inciting or abetting the crime of murder or grievous bodily hurt.
