YOURSAY ‘Loyalty to country doesn’t necessarily mean loyalty to regime.’

Major Zaidi, a true Malaysian patriot

Willing to die for Malaysia, but not lie for Umno

maj Dalvik: Major Zaidi Ahmad, you have my utmost respect. Malaysia (especially its civil servants) needs people like you who can differentiate loyalty to country and loyalty to regime.

If a regime cannot be challenged, what difference is it from absolute monarchy?

Fateh: If this country has many Zaidis, then the nation has hope for the future. But as it is, there’s only one Zaidi.

Anonymous #20513663: Indoctrination is rampant throughout the civil service. Even graduates and Grade A civil servants have been brainwashed to such an extent that some don’t dare to vote at all.

They do not know their rights under the law and live in a state of constant fear. The Malaysian public must reach out to these civil servants and give them moral support if they want to speak up.

Civil Service and Armed Forces: A total of 1.5 million votes, not including retirees, who are ‘brainwashed’. This group must be empowered and educated about their rights if we want to move forward as a country.

Ipohcrite: The so-called “hand that feeds” the uniformed forces personnel and other civil servants, is the rakyat, not a party called Umno.

Anonymous_1372086055: Zaidi, you are a loyal Malaysian. I salute you. Be a politician. I`m sure every smart Malaysian will vote for you.

James TCLow: Zaidi is a rare breed indeed. How many of you in the military are willing to stick your heads out like him?

Military personnel, unlike the ordinary rakyat, are often regarded as heroes, especially in times of war. But many of you are not worth your salt.

4W4K3N1N6: We salute you, Zaidi, for your stand. Military personnel and all civil servants should understand that it is the Malaysian public that feed them through our taxes and not the ruling coalition.

Hence, it is true that they should not ‘bite’ the Malaysian public, whose hands feed them.

Pissed Off: A man of virtue and principles. A rare trait to be found in government servants. God bless you, sir.

Anonymous #55961902: Quote: “The officer presiding over the trial had allegedly asked Zaidi to tap rubber if he was not interested in the Air Force.”

What an insult to all the hard-working rubber tappers. Without the rubber tappers, our country would not have progressed and prospered.

Rubber tappers are honest people who work and toil for two meals for their families. No doubt they are poor but they don’t rob or steal people’s money nor steal government’s coffers.

They earn an honest living. I would like to remind whoever the officer is, that rubber tappers also have produced good and hardworking children who have also helped to develop the nation.

NuckinFuts: Zaidi is the most eminent of the eminent Malaysians.

Peacemaker: Umno acts like it is the government when the two are completely separate entities. A political party like Umno can disappear, but the government of Malaysia will remain and exist long after that.

Flyingeagle: Those who are in Zaidi’s shoes should stand up and speak up on the wrongdoings of those in high positions. Our beloved country outwardly looks beautiful but inwardly is corrupted to the core.

Gen2indian: Bravo sir – spoken like a true and honourable soldier. I will pray for your well-being.

It warms my heart that there are still some people like you still in the Armed Forces who are not a bunch of ‘yes men’ beholden to BN for their rankings and income.

Lies, Lies & More Lies: Change is imminent in Malaysia. My salutations to Zaidi.

Malaysia Truly Asia: When all this is over Zaidi, and after all the Chinese and your fellow PKR Malays pat you on the head and say “Good boy, Zaidi, well done,” you will find that you may have to sell nasi lemak or char kway teow to earn a living. Like many. you will soon be forgotten.

Anonymous #40538199: Zaidi is right. Challenging a race-based political party is not challenging the race which the political party claims to represent.

EmEmKay: “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world … would do this, it would change the earth.” – William Faulkner.

Ex-Wfw: Are we surprised with the kind of leadership we have in all branches of the civil services and uniform bodies? Only those few with intelligence, like Zaidi, can and will think out of the box.

Hence, we all know the path we are traveling on; down the slope of convenience to self-destruction.

Hank Marvin: Zaidi is not only brave but he is also intelligent. Even some generals would not see the points which the major has explained correctly.
