YOURSAY ‘He insults people, it’s okay. They protest, he threatens murder.’

Absolutely shocking for MP to issue death threats

‘If I was home, some may have died’yrsaympthreatens Tholu: Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin, is it an offence to protest in front of someone else’s house?

Ask the IGP (inspector-general of police) and he will say no. Remember the ex-army veterans and their ‘butt’ exercises in front of then Bersih co-chairperson S Ambiga’s house? No one was charged with any offence.

And remember the ‘burger protest’ by some traders also outside of Ambiga’s house?  The IGP said there was nothing wrong with both incidents.

Remember the action of a group of Muslim NGOs which had offered a RM1,200 reward to anyone who would slap Seputeh MP Teresa Kok? Was any action taken against them? No.

So why are you getting enraged over the protest in front of your house? You can, of course, issue threats to even kill the protesters because according to Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, issuing threats to one’s life and limb is not an offence.

So Bung Moktar, feel free to issue death threats or even threats to rape the women protesters. You will not be breaking any law.

Krissman: In any other civilised country where the rule of law prevails, Bung Moktar would have been not just history but would be rotting in jail. What is Malaysia coming to?

He is no representative of the people but a gangster in its truest sense. With MPs like these, Malaysian citizens need no enemies. God bless and save Malaysia.

Justine Gow: He is ready to kill someone for “harassing” his house. Can “harassing” an inanimate structure (for example, a house or a car) or standing in front of his house, be worse or more insolent than his verbal harassment of women MPs in Parliament?

Zappy-Zapzap: Please control yourself, Bung Moktar. You’re a parliamentarian in the august House. Have you forgotten? Ramadan is here. You know what to do.

Thisia: Umno goons can protest in front of Ambiga’s house, Penang CM Lim Guan Eng’s house, but nobody did anything. But why is Bung Moktar so special that others cannot protest in front of his house?

Vijay47: I am curious about just one thing. Since our hero used the word “bangsat” in Parliament, what did the reformist speaker do?

But I suppose suspension for six months is only for members of the opposition, not for ‘bangsat’.

Kingfisher: Finally, and many would assume deservedly, someone has been ‘tied up’ for a pillory bash for indiscreet and prejudicial anti-feminist remarks, even if uttered in the sanctuary of the lower house of Parliament.

Many would have thought that Bung Moktar had got away on a number of occasions with what can be presumed as improper parliamentary language. This unhappy episode one hopes, would be a serious learning experience.

Anonymous_1421406986: Examine your attitude first, Bung Moktar. Had you stuck to your responsibilities and mannerism of a proper parliamentarian, this thing would not have happened.

You hid behind the immunity offered by Parliament, and you had already taken too many liberties. It is about time the rakyat gave notice who is your boss. They did just that.

So just do what you were employed to do and cause no more trouble, especially in looking down on women.

Anonymous_1371547149: So he can threaten to kill and be protected by parliamentary privilege? Wow, stupid is as stupid does.

Vent: A certain face was supposed to have launched a thousand ships – this one has launched a thousand curses. Perhaps more?

Peacemaker: BN parliamentarians seem to have thuggish mindsets. One MP wanted to “whack” a member of Johor royal household.

Now the Kinabatangan MP threatens to murder protesters in front of his house. Do the voters permit them such ‘samseng’ behaviour?

Whatsup: How unbecoming of an MP to threaten death to others. What a violent and dangerous man. And please don’t blame journalists for misquoting you.

Learn from Ambiga and Guan Eng on how they dealt with protestors.

LEF: There is no need to go to his house. Just protest outside Parliament and greet him when he arrives for the session. You indulge him by going to his house and give him fuel to fan the fire.

You can also use many non-violent and creative methods to put him to shame. But alas, the man is already shameless, so your efforts might be futile.

Oriole: Bung Moktar, instead of weeping about it, think twice before opening your mouth. You’re not going to get much sympathy since your remarks make you one of those who inspire disgust and disdain in the nation.

The fact that your party bosses have kept quiet is to their disadvantage. Suck it up mister and stop complaining for the problems you brought on yourself.

Dev Anand Pillai: Sadly, such scumbags get elected over and over again by their constituents, women included. This is the difference – rural folks are just too ignorant of what is going on.

For them, elections are when they get some free money no matter which scumbag is standing in their constituency.

Therefore the moral of the story is keep them stupid and they keep you elected.
