Sowing seeds of racism in bid to save Najib
Umno division torches effigies of DAP father and son
Behsaikong: There is a very big difference between calling for the PM’s resignation and the burning the effigies of two opposition leaders even to the extent of setting up an altar to them symbolising their deaths.
If this difference is not obvious to Malaysians of any quarter, ethnically or politically, then the nation is truly and really in very deep trouble.
Anonymous_1372558750: This is an act of disgrace for Muslim and Islam. Any forms of idolatry, for good or bad, are forbidden in true Islamic teaching.
But the masterminds are very clever. They remain razor sharp to focus on race by picking o DAP’s father-and-son team. Umno’s modus operandi is to turn every issue into a racial issue and fan on it.
They had completely forgotten that the Malays will suffer the most from corruption and lawlessness in the country.
Tunku Aziz Alhabshee Low: They are taking all this trouble to save one man. But is he worth it? I know he is worth a lot of money, but is he worth it? He’s not going to share his money with you lot.
Instead of burning two effigies to save one man, it would be far better and cheaper to burn the effigy of one man – the man causing all this trouble for Malaysia.
Pemerhati: PM Najib Razak has to hold on to power because he knows he will be brought to justice if he steps down.
He has used some of his billions to buy the loyalty of the top Umno people who can topple him. For instance, senior Umno leader Shahrir Abdul Samad, who had built a reputation as a principled and upright person, sold his soul to Najib for a mere RM1 million.
That means he could have bought the loyalty of the other influential Umno and BN members much more cheaply. After safeguarding himself on the political front, he is using his racist Umno goons to polarise his electoral support base in the rural Malay areas.
He thinks that such polarisation will help him to garner a much larger share of the majority Malay vote. Then massive gerrymandering and cheating would enable him to again win the next elections even if the popular vote falls well below the previous 47 percent level.
BTN: Umno Malays have got ‘maruah’ (dignity) but people of other races don’t.
It’s disturbing to know that Umno, the anchor party in the BN ruling coalition, can act in this racist manner and get away with it.
How are they going to protect the non-Malays when they are the instigator of racial tension?
Rojak: Where are the cybertroopers when you need them?
I need someone clever to explain to me why it is fine for Umno leaders to burn effigies of the Lims (DAP leaders Kit Siang and Guan Eng) in front of a large crowd but it’s not okay when a few participants in Bersih 4 tread on pictures of Umno or PAS figures during the course of the rally.
I’m sure there must be a very good explanation.
ConstitutionIsSupreme: Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar, please tell us which is more ‘biadap’ (uncouth), seditious and threatening: this burning of father-and-son effigies from a political party or the stomping of political party leader’s photo?
Basically: So let’s get this right, stepping on photo of Najib and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang (a closet Umno leader) is an outrage, but torching DAP leaders effigy is not?
Or is revenge a valid excuse? (Then again, did Kit Siang or Guan Eng step on the photographs? Was it even a DAP member?). I guess no need for nitty-gritty details, right?
Devon: Najib knows them well, being one of them. Their credo is cash is king. All can be bought easily. Forget about religion, it is only for show.
With such a large population of people with a distorted sense of self-entitlement, where do you think the country is headed?
Dizzer: The problem in Malaysia is with a certain type of Malay who has been taught that the system owes him a living, that his religion gives him rights and powers over everybody else, but who knows in his heart that his education and culture hasn’t equipped him to cope with the modern world.
We really need to do something about the Malay boys – they are so far behind everyone else, including Malay women, in the education stakes – that they unthinkingly cling to their ‘privileges’ and have to resort to bullying to enforce their position in society.
Although they dominate every area of public life – police, army, politics, civil service – they have very few genuine role models to look up to (even their footballers) which makes them resentful, dangerous, and happy to give their support to the amoral and the corrupt who appear to have ‘made it’ financially.
ACR: While the imbeciles from far off Kota Bharu react this way, there was news claiming that George Kent Bhd secured the LRT 3 project from Bandar Utama to Klang though their bid was higher than UEM.
UEM is owned by Khazanah Nasional and typically gives up to 45 percent of the project to bumi sub-contractors. George Kent’s prior experience in LRT projects was dismal.
One has to wonder what do these red shirt idiots, including Ali Tinju of the Army Veteran’s Association, actually see in Umno and do they see a disconnect between what Umno leaders say and do.
