Yellow balloons in our comedy court
‘Act of tossing balloons is rude, an insult to country’
Drngsc: I think it is not the act of tossing the balloons. It is the fact that the balloons are yellow (the colour of Bersih) and the words written on the balloons.
The yellow colour and those words are a joy to most Malaysians but a taboo to some who are not ‘Bersih’, not for ‘free media’, not ‘just’ and not ‘democratic’.
Rick Teo: I can’t help laughing at the investigating officer saying that tossing balloons is rude. Since when has tossing a balloon been rude?
Anonymous 2405561458171517: Even if tossing balloons is rude in their eyes, rudeness has yet to be a crime in Malaysia. Or have they made rudeness a crime?
In which case, the law should cut both ways as those claiming that others are rude are also often rude beyond words themselves.
Quigonbond: If rude is enough to get people in criminal trouble, a lot of people out there would be behind bars, starting with Mat Rempit and anyone with a chip on their shoulder with no qualms expressing their anger. Which just about sounds like the red shirts.
The investigating officer, did he even blink when he said that? Where was he schooled?
Gungadin: I think it is far more ‘rude’ to jump queues, clear your throat in public, not to hold a door open, double park, throw people out of windows, shoot foreign women in the head, beat prisoners to death, traffic in human beings, abandon the homeless in oil palm estates, steal billions of ringgit belonging to the public, step on severed cow heads, display your buttocks to a lady, and for our leaders to insult the intelligence of every Malaysian by continuously making stupid statements.
Tell the Truth: It’s simply a waste of time and resources by the authorities who are trying to shut up peaceful protests.
If they wanted to kill the PM, do you think they would use a balloon? It goes to show that the PM and his wife are no longer appreciated by the people because of their alleged lack of integrity.
Half-Jew-RPK: In Bolehland, those who drop balloons are considered an insult to country, while those who bring international shame to us in a global multi-billion corruption scandal are tolerated.
Just like a lot of confused Umno Muslims, where touching a dog is considered a deadly sin, while taking millions of corruption money is condoned. Bolehland is truly a special place.
GE14Now!: So tossing of balloons is an insult to the country, is it? Since when did the PM and his wife become ‘the country’?
And why isn’t the alleged embezzlement of billions of ringgit an insult to the country?
Sleepy: I though it cannot get worse, then I read ‘Fahmi Reza is facing charges for ‘hurting other people’s feelings’’.
Jaycee: Seriously? Where is it written that dropping yellow balloons is rude? In other words, dropping other colour balloons is okay?
What a waste of the taxpayers’ money to have this court hearing in the first place.
Kuasa Rakyat: Allegedly defrauding the country of billions of ringgit, of which RM2.6 billion landed in Najib Abdul Razak’s private and personal account, is both an insult and embarrassment to our country and its rakyat.
All those involved, directly or indirectly, should be arrested and charged.
The Analyser: What is an insult to the country and to every Malaysian of voting age is the fact that the combined forces of the opposition have not been able to come up with a truly democratic and egalitarian alternative to the appalling mess that Umno has created for this country.
So, don’t come to me looking for sympathy regarding your pathetically weak balloon farce, thinking that you are doing something worthwhile for your country.
Vijay47: I think the absolute idiots who initiated this prosecution should be sent to Japan to be abandoned in a dense forest.
And if unfortunately found, dumped into one of Japan’s many volcanoes. That would restore peace in Malaysia. Arigato.
Analyser, you forgot to blame the Penang state government and Lim Guan Eng for this ‘balloon farce’. Losing your touch?
Appum: Oh my, oh my. Vijay47, send to Japan? You are being too kind. Perhaps to Siberia would be a more appropriate dosage for such idiots.
Dropping balloons is rude? Then cheating the nation, mismanaging our sovereign fund, alleged massive corruption, creating the alleged mother of all scandals, are not rude?
How come no institutions are looking into it seriously?
Robbed!!: Hats off to you, dancer Bilqis Hijjaz. Be prepared to be stopped by Immigration.
