BN did not win by-elections, the opposition lost
Dr M vows not to retreat, says twin win steels resolve to oust Najib
CQ Muar: PM Najib Razak, don’t be too smug over the victories of the twin by-elections – that those were “divine sign” and you’re on the right path.
Openly abusing God’s name to cover up wrongdoing is tantamount to blasphemy. There are dire scandals which you vehemently claimed innocence. The price for such sacrilegious public utterance is beyond God’s pardon and redemption. You ought to face the wrath of the Almighty and be punished severely and accordingly.
Your name had shamed your late father’s reputation. History will record you as the only PM overwhelmed with scandals.
Anonymous: Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, I have this to say – you cannot undo what you had done with/to the Umno Malays. They cannot be without special privileges.
Najib is just using cash to rule. The ones who talk most about heaven are the ones who turn a blind eye to corruption.
The Analyser: The by-election victories were a sign of open incompetence on the part of the opposition. A loss that was probably enhanced by Mahathir’s involvement in favour of the opposition.
BN did not win, the opposition lost. They were in a winning position in that they had the support of over 50% of voters a few years ago and now they are down to 25%.
BN just happened to be in the right place to benefit from opposition stupidity, ignorance, selfishness, lack of vision and loss of direction
Dingy: It’s the split votes between PAS and Amanah plus PAS hudud agenda that swing the Chinese and Indian votes to BN. Find ways to resolve PAS issues because PAS is the main obstacle to defeat BN.
Abdul Hadi Awang is a religious fanatic who believes Allah’s will that BN should continue to rule. He is blind to Najib’s alleged looting of the national wealth and believe Najib is sent by Allah and can never do wrong.
Get rid of Hadi and the Malay rural folks will open their eyes to reality.
Sarawakian: Mahathir, you failed because you are still trying to save Umno and BN. By now, you should have realised there is no way of bringing down Najib without destroying Umno and BN.
Your next step is to formally join Pakatan Harapan. To have any chance of success, you must do two things:
1) Acknowledge your mistakes, and endorse Anwar Ibrahim as PM designate. Otherwise you, and your supporters in Harapan will forever be dogged by accusations of opportunism.
2) One thing we have learnt from the twin by-elections is ‘cash is king’. Many tycoons still owe you favours, and your son is a billionaire. Be a fundraiser for Harapan, especially Amanah. It is a party with great potential, handicapped by lack of funds.
Don’t go and meet your maker a disgraced, bitter man forever cursed by Malaysians.
Hello: But before he continued with his resolve to bring down Najib, Mahathir must apologise to the Malaysian public for creating this kind of corrupt, rent-seeking and crony BN government and ultimately this monster of a prime minister.
Changing Najib is not enough; there must be change in government and Mahathir must state his stand on this.
Ram14: The results are good as it has given false hope to BN. People are smart. The fact that government cannot be changed in this election is well-known to everybody.
Come GE14, the same rakyat will change the government. Just be patient and see. The whole cabinet will be punished and things are moving in the right direction. Don’t worry.
Just imagine if Najib is in power for 23 years? Malaysians will be workers in foreign countries.
Samm: I fully support Mahathir in his efforts to clean up the Malaysian government in any way possible and to remove Najib from office. Win with dignity not with corruption.
I believe there are many more who support Mahathir. I’m really surprise to see a widower win the election in Kuala Kangsar. Good luck to the people there.
Clever Voter: There is no shame in asking or receiving outside the norms. Politicians do that as part of their ‘cari makan’. Business people do it because it is an expected norm.
Voters are also happy with crumps. Young people join BN establishment as they hope they get places too. It would take miracles to turn around a culture built around the patronage system.
There are hopes that a few brave men and women who could inspire and bring the change. Hopefully, they all don’t end up behind bars.
Roger 5201: The chosen one can now claims divine right to his donations. If these two by-elections reflect mass approval of his leadership, why has he not called for GE14 yet?
Maxit: Dr M’s cause is noble. One does not have to be ashamed in defeat. There is nobility in defeat if we do not give up the cause.
The cause is just and a righteous God will ultimately give victory. So, keep it going until all these villains in Umno, BN and the government are gone.
