YOURSAY | ‘And since when did lodging false police reports be considered okay?’

‘Is it us or have Umno leaders gone stupid?’

Success, we derailed the conspiracy, says Umno Youth leader

yrsayisitusorumno yoursay-EnglishTholu: “(Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun) is ‘proud’ the report managed to foil an ‘attempt’ to topple the prime minister.”

Am I hallucinating or did I indeed hear him correctly? How much more stupid can he be? How could he have foiled “the attempt” long after the Department of Justice (DOJ) had filed its forfeiture prayers to the US court and after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) admitted that it had cooperated with FBI?

Clearly he is trying to rub out the shame and guilt he had brought upon himself. In my opinion, although initially the police didn’t pursue the case and brushed it off as an accusation based merely on assumption, it should now investigate fervently from a different viewpoint.

The police should now investigate what Khairul meant by “managed to foil an attempt” and how he accomplished it.

Surely he should know that there was indeed an attempt to topple Najib by the three high public office holders and the police must now pick up his evidence and pursue a case of treason by the three.

Or could it be that the script for Khairul’s press conference was drafted by the police themselves.

CQ Muar: Khairul seemed to be acting alone, and unable to furnish any sensible answer when cornered by reporters. Feeling proud and cocky over his report, he even considered his police report a success.

For maligning the three “Tan Sris”, we hope former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail and former MACC chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed will not just let him off so easily, but to teach Khairul a lesson on not to lodge unsubstantiated reports.

Oxymoronictendencies: Indeed, this man is clearly delusional. How has he foiled ‘the plot’? His police report he made was over actions already taken. So he prevented nothing.

Not that there was any plot to start with, except in his mind. Sadly, the Umno desperation and idiocy in trying to be the best sycophants and ‘macais’ is cross-generational.

Headhunter: Khairul confirms what Umno is all about; full of dirty tricks, uncouth, uncultured, unconscientious and downright dangerous.

Unfortunately, the inspector-general of police (IGP) is again seen to be practising double standard by summarily dismissing the lout’s action.

The lout’s behaviour is another reason we should not let the country fall into the hands of the next generation of Umno leaders.

Taiko: What a sad day for Umno to have such a stupid leader who made allegations without any facts to substantiate his report.

The country will be turned upside down if we have stupid men like Khairul to lead and manage our national affairs.

Telestai!: What kind of twisted logic is this? It is like making a police report on a rape that did not occur and later say the crime could have taken place if the report wasn’t lodged.

Roger 5201: Khairul has successfully applied his boss’ favourite “doctrine of pre-emptive strike” by making a police report based on gut feel and personal assumptions, which the (IGP) said is okay.

Anonymous 122461436161429: To derail a conspiracy there must be one. The police found none. Khairul certainly must be cleverer than the police.

And since when did lodging false police reports be considered okay?

Cogito Ergo Sum: Facing imminent censure, Khairul claims he ‘foiled’ a non-existent conspiracy to save his face.

Expecting to be rewarded, this utter fool is now a major embarrassment to an already embarrassed party. With friends like you, who needs enemies?

Odin Tajué: Well done, Khairul. What a clever little boy you are. You have saved your democratically-elected lord and master ‘Malaysian Official 1’ from being toppled.

In due course, he will, beyond even a shadow of doubt, reward you with tens of millions so that you can get a Bentley and have 717 on the number plate.

And Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin will be even more envious of you. Truly, you are a rising star in that den of alleged thieves, liars and conmen.

Hang Babeuf: Once again – and with apologies and acknowledgement to the great Richard Hofstadter – it is time (long overdue!) for a definitive study of ‘The Paranoid Style in Malay Politics’.

On the uses of confected political hysteria, panic-mongering and the search for necessary, if imagined, enemies. On the pulling, guiding and driving power of a “delusional mindset”.

It’s the politics of becoming “victims”, all fearful victims together, without and before any victimisation.

Multi Racial: The ruling party is full of politicians who have no interest to do what is good for the country. Instead they behave as if they are competing against one another for the trophy of best shoe polisher.

Nobody has the courage to take their leader to task. It is a crying shame how this country can get to this level. The only hope we have now is to pray for divine intervention.

The Analyser: The things Malaysians say to save face are truly imaginative. It’s a pity they don’t turn their intelligence to doing something more productive.
