Dr M-Anwar ‘reunion’ could be a body blow to Umno

Dr M-Anwar meeting may cause PKR members to quit party, says Nur Jazlan

yrsayMandAreunionyoursay-EnglishMushiro: Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed is fooling himself. If it was true that this meeting between Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim may cause unhappy PKR members to quit the party, then Nur Jazlan should keep quiet and let Umno take advantage of the supposed gain.

It is more probable that more Umno members may leave Umno to join PKR/Bersatu and this small swing may be fatal for Umno.

Mahathir’s brilliant move, with Anwar reciprocating, is definitely a nightmare for Prime Minister and Umno president Najib Razak and his party.

Tholu: The mere fact that you have expressed unsolicited disappointment on behalf of PKR members on this brief meeting between Anwar and Mahathir, betrays your inner fear of doom for Umno. And Umno’s doom means you lose your deputy minister’s post and its attendant perks.

Remember Nur Jazlan, that DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang and Anwar were in rival political camps and DAP did not have a significant number of seats in Parliament then.

But when they joined hands in Pakatan Rakyat, DAP was able to garner an unprecedented and unexpected number of parliamentary seats even to its own surprise.

So Nur Jazlan, bear in mind when foes unite, the end of the protagonist (read Umno) is fast approaching.

Sa Tombs: This meeting won’t cause a split in PKR, but will cause a massive number of Umno members to join honourable and righteous people in the opposition. This also goes for MCA, MIC, Gerakan and PAS members.

So Nur Jazlan, who abandoned the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and betrayed Malaysians by being so hard up for a deputy minister’s post, keep your uncalled for comments to yourself, and look after your backyard.

Ong Seng Swee: Yes, this ex-PAC chairman is an irresponsible MP who left PAC in the middle of the 1MDB investigation, just to take up a deputy minister’s post.

Sarawakian: I thought you were the smart one, Nur Jazlan. By now, you should be thinking of jumping ship, instead of supporting MO1 (Malaysian Official 1).

Anonymous 2393041450843742: Nur Jazlan is worried that PKR will lose members because of Mahathir meeting Anwar. He must truly care for the well-being of the opposition and the rakyat.

Perhaps he is planning to quit the ruling coalition and join the opposition for GE14. Comrade Nur Jazlan, please find out if the opposition/rakyat wants you, before you do something stupid like quitting your post and the present party.

Bluemountains: If the Mahathir-Anwar meet will benefit Umno, why is Bersatu’s registration still not approved?

As deputy home minister, you should expedite the process if it is going to benefit Umno. My guess is that Bersatu can only be up and running after GE14.

Liew Lean Kut: Everybody must understand that every action you take against a person will result in a reaction.

The key word Nur Jazlan used was “may”. That is his conjecture on this matter. He is entitled to it. As I see it, it may also cause more members from Umno to leave to join Mahathir.

Vision2020: Nur Jazlan, the historic handshake between Mahathir and Anwar on Sept 5, after 18 years, signified the unity of opposition parties and Barisan Rakyat against the corrupt Umno party: and not the other way around.

Umno should be worried, otherwise why did your tainted PM (MO1) asked for forgiveness for his weaknesses recently.

JD Lovrenciear: Yang Berhormat, you certainly have got your thoughts frozen in the Arctic.

Your rebuttal clearly affirms the serious disconnect of Umno and the Najib loyalists with ground sentiments.

Hisham Rais: Mahathir, Anwar reunion will lead to one united front

SteveOh: The past will catch up in the future. For now the present is all that matters, and it is positive that Mahathir and Anwar have reconciled.

The Russians and the allies cooperated for the purpose of defeating a common enemy. But their past animosity and distrust of one another, caught up in the aftermath of the war. Thus began the Cold War.

No matter what Mahathir does, his past has defined him and will catch up with him. The future may be kinder to him depending on what he does now and in future.

People do change and let’s hope for the better. In the end, peace and harmony result when a nation is governed by upright, not lawless leaders.

The Analyser: Forgotten will be Pakatan Rakyat, DAP, PKR, Amanah and Harapan as the fickle Malaysians drool over their latest acquisition – the party to beat all parties which will save Malaysia (and the world) without us having to think or lift a finger.

Let the conmen do all our thinking for us. While we sit back and gripe. And your one united front will be a dismal failure, because it has no direction. Simple as that.

This is another exercise in greed and selfishness, for the mindless to drool over.

Victor Johan: United Mohd Najib’s Organisation (Umno) has a bleak future now, so cybertroopers, are now in loud desperation; punching the keyboards and spewing nonsense.
