-Mrs. IRENE, February 8, 2013.
I am an English Teacher working in SK Masai.I am married to an Indian Expatriate and we have three daughters who are aged 14, 12 and 8 years old. My husband has been serving for Malaysia since 1992 in Higher Technical Management position in Power Industry. He is a registered Professional Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia and he is also one of a few Electrical Engineers in Malaysia holding Competent Electrical Engineers (275KV) Certificate issued by Energy Commission of Malaysia. He has very significantly contributed in recovery of Malaysian Power Stations during the three National Blackouts occurred in 1992,1996 and 2005.
Moreover,he has been paying hefty income tax, contributing for EPF,invested in property and on the social side he has been conducting free English grammar classes and motivational talks in the schools.
I have been applying for my husband’s Permanent Resident status since 1996 the year we got married. We have only been consistently issued with rejection letters several times. As the latest status, since November 2010, my husband’s application is under police verification.Yes, this is the reply I have been getting from Johor Immigration Department, since November 2010.
In 2011, we even approached MCA complaints bureau also who wrote a letter to the present Home Minister, but no action.A few years back,we got recommendation letter from Johor Menteri Besar’s Office,we got a recommendation letter from the then Education Minister’s (presently Home Minister) office and we also got a recommendation letter from then Deputy Home Minister, then Deputy Minister in PMO Dato Murugiah.None of these letters have helped us to get the PR status for my husband and our PR application file has become a pillow size.
On Sunday STAR dated 3.2.13, I read the following in The QUOTES ” The man filled up the application form for me and asked for four photographs and a RM12 processing fee”.Security guard Yuhanis Bira telling a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) that he obtained a blue Malaysian identity card in 1979,six years after he arrived from Indonesia.
I do not really understand why my Engineering Professional husband is not given PR even after serving for Malaysia for more than Twenty (20) years, whereas a Security Guard after staying just Six (6) years got citizenship?
Is it because my husband is an Indian National and the security guard is an Indonesian National?
All the while I have sincerely been voting for Barisan Nasional. Now, I am deeply thinking why not I vote for opposition party to head federal government and try again with the new government for getting Permanent Resident Status for my Indian Engineering Professional husband. I do not think so that any body can question my logical thinking.
