It’s time to come clean, Mr Prime Minister!
Najib: Sirul’s ‘acted on orders’ claim is rubbish
Hang Babeuf: Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak calls Sirul Azhar Umar’s claims “rubbish”… which raises the questions: how does he know? And what does he know? It’s time to “come clean”, Najib!
The_Vicar: Rubbish? I love rubbish. Tell me more.
Kangkung: Repeating the words “utter rubbish” and “total rubbish” several times won’t make Sirul’s claim disappear. Najib, Sirul has not revealed everything, so how do you know it is all utter rubbish?
Why aren’t you instructing your beloved inspector-general of police to launch an investigation? Why is this case so different, compared to, let’s say, Anwar Ibrahim’s Sodomy II case?
Progressive: The correct response by Najib should have been like Hisham’s – “Sirul is free to reveal everything” – and not “rubbish” and “utter rubbish”, as spoken by the prime minister.
Forgotten Hero: If Sirul feels that he was being made a “scapegoat”, he should have told the court this during his trial. Or tell his family members or lawyer to publish this in the media. But he didn’t do that.
Oh Ya?: One innocent life is already gone, and two more are sentenced to death, without even a motive to kill. This is a miscarriage of justice of the highest order. How could the perpetrators, the police, the attorney-general and the judges sleep so well, let alone answer to their creators?
Wira: The PM issued his shortest, most damaging statement. Mama Rose would have preferred him to just say ‘no comment’.
Keturunan Malaysia: Sadly, Prime Minister, Sir, it is hard to think of a reason for Sirul to want to kill Altantuya. But there are a load of probable reasons for Sirul to be ordered and/or paid to kill her!
Real Truth: A man facing death for following orders to eliminate an innocent, pregnant mother has little to lose except to reveal the truth. Who ordered her death? Who benefits from her death? These questions were not raised at all in the murder trial.
Sirul has no relationship with Altantuya and had just met her a few hours before eliminating her by shooting her and (blowing her up with) C4, military explosives which are only available at the Defence Ministry.
So, there must be much more than meets the eye. Why is that everything is very mysterious and one needs to speculate all the time? There must be rational answers to many unanswered questions.
I hope cybertroopers who are very active will look at this death of an innocent person. What would your reaction be if the murdered is your kin? Reflect once and pray.
Anonymous_1373895194: If I were the leader of a nation, I would welcome revelation or disclosure by anybody to support the investigation and help close the issue for good.
Survivor: Najib, to you, it’s rubbish. To the general public, it is questionable doubt as to who the real murderer is. Period
Mr KJ John: Obviously, the PM has more interest in this case than in national matters, since he is so keen to make his views known about this! How would he know if Sirul is not speaking the truth?
Rankiepo: You should encourage Sirul to come up with the proof (if there’s any) to get to the bottom of it. Being a PM and commenting on a high profile murder case, you’ve taken it too lightly to just simply brush it off.
Louis: Najib, a big gun like you should not respond so quickly to a mere claim by a minnow like Sirul. It is very unusual of yourself. You have to be prodded to respond to many important questions like 1MDB or your Obama golfing trip, but (they) fail to get one (response).
On this occasion, you were super quick. Don’t you think you are further arousing the public’s suspicion? That is besides the point.
How do you know that Sirul did not receive orders from someone else? Give Sirul a chance to tell. It would be much better that you ask New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia and The Star to publish Sirul’s story in full, if ever it is told.
It is a chance for you to cleanse yourself completely of all those unfounded suspicions on you. Go for it, Mr PM!!
Ketuanan Rakyat: How do you know it is utter rubbish? You have more information otherwise. Correct?
Gu: Why did Najib respond to this question so promptly, which doesn’t involve him nor public problem issues, on so many of which he remained silent to until God knows when. Sirul has yet to point fingers and people are already attacking him.
Homesick: Holy crap! Who let the dogs out? All the morons are out defending Kangkung.
Ok karut: I believe it’s the first time this man spoke on the Altantuya murder. Zunar, over to you. Is he now “cartoonable”?
