YOURSAY ‘I am deeply saddened to hear such defeatist attitude from the IGP.’

But IGP, surely we don’t take orders from IS

IGP: Questioning hudud will incur IS wrath

yrsayigpis Myop101: Since when did we lose our sovereignty and abdicated to Islamic State the power to dictate what Malaysians can say or do?

If today they are upset we speak about Islam or hudud, tomorrow they will be upset that non-Muslims are able to live and walk freely in this country.

Nothing will stop them from making more demands until we conform to the image of a nation they are pleased with. Then what?

Will inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar continue to yield concessions to them because of the fear of what they can do to us?

The IGP should in fact let them try to do what they plan to do and foil their plans to demonstrate that no foreign powers can dream of harming this nation under his watch.

I am deeply saddened to hear such a defeatist attitude being promulgated by the IGP. Please prove me wrong, IGP. Be a Churchill not a Chamberlain.

Gordon Gecko: A top cop with integrity will stand up and defend the country like a true leader. Instead what we have is a leader who uses threat against the very people he is supposed to protect.

Perhaps he should go watch the movie ‘Kingsman’ (now showing in our local cinema) to learn more about being a gentleman, loyalty and kinship.

Anonymous_1419577444: If the police chief has identified an imminent threat, shouldn’t he make the arrests. Unless he is too afraid to touch these terrorists or is he saying Malaysia is a safe refuge for IS?

Nil: An IS threat? That implies that our police and armed forces are not capable of dealing with them. And this, coming from the IGP!

When the IS strikes, hudud won’t save you. It’s because IS is not about Islam.

Paul Warren: If discussing hudud will invite an IS attack then you’ve got to go arrest all the PAS leaders as well as Kelantan Umno and PKR state assembly representatives for approving this.

It will seem like as if they knew this and are doing this to invite IS to take over this country so that the IS’ version of syariah and Islamic state can be imposed on this country.

Kangkung: Is the IS running the country? I think someone has to check the IGP’s mental health.

By continuing to give racists and bigots from Umno-supported groups such as Isma, Perkasa and Jati space to spread hatred and not taking action against them, it will eventually destroy this country.

By allowing PAS to implement hudud, which clearly goes against the constitution, it too will destroy this country.

Hang Jebat: Khalid is crazier than the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.

Let us make friends with IS. Tell them to get rid of all ‘other Muslims’. Then we ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to nuke them.

We can all temporarily seek refuge in China and return only when the coast is clear.

Anonymous #19098644: When did the IGP become an expert on hudud and the federal constitution?

Does he even know the law or respect the judiciary when he ignores the decision of the court of appeals and continues to utilise a section of the law that has been declared as null and void?

For the police to succeed, the rakyat must support them. Without the support of the rakyat, how can the police deal effectively with such imminent threat of extremism?

Hearty Malaysian: IGP, if you are afraid of IS threat and tell us not to speak against any extremist Islamic group or outdated religious law, you must step down.

It is your job to ensure IS is not a real threat to this nation instead of telling us to please the IS by behaving according to their wish.

You are such an embarrassment to the police force.

Commentable: It is best that the IGP sticks to his job as a police officer rather than throwing himself into this contentious pool that is already filled to the brim with issues of religion and politics.

If there is police intelligence that the IS terror network is interested to wade into this pool, too, then it is Khalid’s job to nip the problem in the bud and neutralise the threat, if any.

Let’s not allow some terror network determine what we can or cannot say or do in public. That is to undermine our great nation’s sovereignty and its constitution.

7888888: Fear mongering always works with Malaysians.

Old Timer: Why isn’t Khalid afraid of the federal constitution, our laws and the Malaysian people?

Anonymous999: Aaah, IS, the new bogeyman! In the days of old, children were asked to behave or else “mata-mata tangkap” (police will catch you).

Fast forward to the present and the top ‘mata-mata’ has put a new spin to an old story.
