Eagerly waiting for Mahathir’s knockout blow
Mahathir raises ‘lavish’ Rosmah in latest salvo
Ferdtan: It finally came; even though many pundits speculated that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad would not go down to that level. The trump card is being used, the aspersion on the prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor.
This means that the ex-PM is dead serious in his fight with Najib Razak when he uses whatever means, fair or otherwise; and that should worry Najib.
All is fair in love and war. And in politics, nothing is sacred anymore. Indeed, Rosmah with many controversial issues linked to her, true or not, will potentially be Najib’s Achilles’ heel.
SameSame: And here goes round four! Mahathir is going strong but Najib seems unfazed.
Hermit: Yes Tun, you can count on me and surely you’re not alone to demand that Najib has to go. It is good for Umno, the country and above all for Najib’s family.
Najib’s siblings have come out into the open to apparently chastise Najib (and his wife Rosmah), who live contrary to the humble ways in which their late father Abdul Razak Hussein had raised them.
They even highlighted that their late father had in no way left a fortune for the likes of Rosmah to shop in Paris, London and New York, and the likes of Rosmah’s son, who bought a posh apartment in New York for RM100 million, and even bankrolled a number of Hollywood movies.
Naturally, it needs a wise man like TDM (Mahathir) to ponder where the money is coming from.
What business is he running, how much profit he is making, how much tax he has been paying and to which government the tax has been remitted. These are simple questions TDM is asking and Najib, please respond.
Oh Ya?: Well said, Mahathir. Could you now please explain how your sons become multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires? Najib should definitely go if your accusations against him are true.
But shouldn’t the entire Umno leadership go, too, for they also have plenty of skeletons in their closets.
Shanandoah: The pot and the kettle are of the same colour. What’s the difference? They are as black as black can be.
Dr Manhattan: During Mahathir’s term there were some politician who urged Mahathir to resign like former information minister Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, Johor Bahru MP Shahrir Abdul Samad, and former public enterprises minister Abdul Manan Othman.
Did Mahathir resign? No. Because from his point of view, he is in the right. The same goes for Najib.
Progressive: This nation has a choice – Mahathir or Najib. My view is Mahathir must be stopped.
The past scandals, racism, cronyism during Mahathir’s era can really make your head spin. Najib is no angel. But he is a worthier choice under the present circumstances.
Cantabrigian: Let Mahathir finishes Najib first, don’t pounce on him now. When Najib is gone, then we can go after Mahathir.
Eyespye: When will Najib start talking about Mahathir’s family? It looks like both will take each other down in this conflict. That’s good for Malaysians.
Fair Play: Those who think Mahathir would come out a distant second, think twice. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
The reverse is also true for the other side by continuing to take on Mahathir. One bullet in a six cylinder pistol. How many times one can pull the trigger before hitting the jackpot?
Straight-Talk: Round after round after round, yet no effect on Najib. When will the devastating knock-out blow comes?
Capo: Mahathir seems to be float like a butterfly, keeping the prey in sight – just wait for the bee to sting and deliver the knockout punch.
Slumdog: The reasons Najib feels so secure and keeps silent is that he has the mainstream media, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the attorney-general, inspector-general of police, Umno warlords, Umno supporters and the rest of the Umno-led government machinery convinced, or should I say, completely fooled by his claim of innocence of any wrongdoing.
Be it in 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu or any other scandal you want to nominate.
Mahathir is right is speaking out and demanding answers, but Najib is so well-entrenched in power that nothing will happen to him.
Kangkung: Sorry Mahathir, the cross and church in Taman Medan are now headline material.
Umno has once again come up with a perfect storm in a teacup to divert attention. Rosmah can heave a big sigh of relief.
Imanust Nais Yalam: But it ain’t over till he sings about the fat lady.
