Sirul, do tell the world the truth
Sirul mulls revealing all on Altantuya murder
Vijay47: Are we approaching the moment awaited by a family far away and in this nation itself – that final scene in a long-running drama when the murderers are revealed at last and the guillotine falls on their heads?
This is the season we all relish with utmost glee knowing that heads accustomed to languishing on pillows of down find sleep eluding them and in its place, nightmares of unbelievable terror filling their guilty minds.
Malaysiakini, don’t reveal the truth yet, draw it out long so that every second more means another twist of the stiletto into the putrid wound.
The years of silence gave the pair with blood-soaked hands an arrogant sense of omnipotence but as we always knew, one day the leaping squirrel must lose its mark and crash to earth.
Erstwhile friends will flee and we hope those hanged will include traitors who were trusted to uphold the law and with all their oaths in Mecca in vain. The tom-toms are beating, the sharks are circling, it may be a Happy New Year after all.
Wg321: Sirul Azhar Umar, political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, who was acquitted of abetment of Altanuyaa Shaariibuu’s murder told the whole world that you and fellow murder convict Azilah Hadri were rogue police officers. It is high time you clear your name.
I don’t know about Azilah, but if you don’t clear your name, your aged mother and your children will suffered for life.
Louis: Sirul, you better tell the truth. Altantuya’s parents are old. They want to know the reasons why their daughter was killed. You would be committing a sin if they were to die without knowing the truth.
On top of that, by protecting the real masterminds of the murder you gain nothing. While you are languishing in the detention centre in Australia, they might be jetting around the world or enjoying a luxurious life.
By telling the story, you might at least get a few million dollars which can help in your children’s education.
Apa Ini?: We rarely go beyond the individual. Now it has been brought home to us how Sirul’s family – his children in particular – have suffered for this crime.
Whether Sirul was guilty or not in the final analysis, his children have borne the consequences of his incarceration, as has Altantuya’s and, indeed, Malaysia and Malaysians. Now he must right that wrong, to all.
Touche: Please don’t take too long mulling because the murderers who are free might send a contract killer after you. Also don’t be greedy.
Gaji Buta: Do you all think the Court of Appeal verdict which allowed him to escape to Australia was for real, or perhaps a Bollywood script, Malaysian-style? This movie may go on till he dies of old age while his family is well taken care of.
The Analyser: Two points – what makes you think Australian TV watchers would be remotely interested in a tin-pot second-rate Asian country run by a mob of losers? They have their own crises to keep them entertained. Wasn’t it so convenient of Sirul to think about calling Malaysiakini?
Rayte: “Acted under orders.” Let’s guess who has the authority to give orders to a police commando.
This guy is deal hunting. Once he get the right amount, he can even bring his family to Australia. Or he is waiting for the real killer to counter offer with more money. Either way, he will make millions.
Siang Malam Sirul: Tell all to the Australian TV stations, take the money and ensure your two teenage children have their trust funds ready as well as some for yourself – they betray you so why should you still be loyal?
Anonymous #20513663: Sirul has received a death sentence so he has nothing to lose. But the person or persons from whom he received orders will now obviously threaten Sirul’s family in Malaysia.
If the Malaysian public really wants Sirul to spill the beans, there needs to be some protection plan for the family, especially his aged mother. Twenty-four hour bodyguard even, for a long, long time to come (until regime change and perhaps beyond).
Who can provide this protection? PAS Unit Amal? Penang’s voluntary whatever-it’s-called? If no protection is offered, no beans will be spilled. I doubt Sirul is willing to risk his family’s lives even if he is willing to risk his own.
Asking his aged mother to die for something like this is too much. The Malaysian public needs to step up to the plate. Don’t be naive, do something about it.
Doc: Sirul is in a no-win situation. It’s either the hangman’s noose if he his extradited to Malaysia or rot in an Aussie prison on visa violation.
So, it may be a good idea for Sirul to sing like a canary and spill the beans on what really happened to Altantuya and the seek asylum in Australia on the threat of being blown to bits if he returns to Malaysia.
FellowMalaysian: Facing the hangman’s noose right in front of his face, Sirul has finally knocked some senses in his head.
It would be tragic for him and his family as well as for the rest of the other Malaysians who are tormented by the fact that the person who allegedly ordered Altantuya’s murder is still walking around a free man.
This could well be the moment that we are all hoping for – that a credible alibi will surface that will finally nail the culprit behind the murder.
While it is reassuring to know that Sirul is in Australia and protected under Australian custodial laws, we hope to see him coming back to Kuala Lumpur soon to finally appease Altantuya’s lost soul.
Whatsup: Do what is right, Sirul – that’ll ease your guilt, consistent with your belief, and let you right the wrong.
You can’t escape punishment for your heinous act against an unarmed woman whose guilt was only what many have done – an affair. Many have done worse, especially those with means and resources.
Repent, so you and your family can sleep better. Atone for what you’ve done. Tell the truth.
Every Vote Counts: Sing, canary, sing. Every day you sing, you live another day.
