YOURSAY ‘IGP has been challenged so he should open the ‘intelligence’ file.’

So who’s lying – Sirul or the police chief?

Sirul accuses IGP of lying about Altantuya probe

yrsaywhoislying Pemerhati: The inspector-general of police (IGP) hadlied blatantly when the police killed Aminulrasyid Amzah and hence one would tend to believe convicted murderer Sirul Azhar Umar when he says that the IGP is lying.

What probably happened is the mastermind of the murder told PM Najib Razak’s aide de camp DSP Musa Safri to get Altantuya Shaariibuu killed. Musa then told chief inspector Azilah Hadri to kill Altantuya who then got the help of corporal Sirul to carry out the murder.

Only Musa is likely to know who the actual mastermind of the murder is as it is most unlikely he would have revealed the identity of the mastermind to the two who did the actual killing.

The only useful information Sirul and Azilah can most probably reveal are the details of the deal that was struck with them on how the trial would be conducted and what would happen to them eventually.

Thus the mastermind of the murder will not be concerned or worried about what Sirul has to say but at the back of his mind will be the worry about what would happen if Musa were to spill the beans.

Headhunter: “If the police and public want to know the truth, I challenge Khalid to open the ‘intelligence’ file,” Sirul retorted.

There you have it! IGP has been challenged so he should open the file to the public and let us form our own opinion on the case. Unless he has an agenda not to do it. Maybe the file was ‘lost’ already.

Otherwise there will be no end to the shenanigan. Be fair to Sirul. After all, he was your subordinate and it’s your duty to defend your men.

Mogansivas: The way I see it is simply this: there is no two ways about Sirul’s culpability. He is a cold-blooded killer of the young Mongolian woman who we are told was also pregnant.

He deserved the punishment irrespective who gave him the orders. I have no sympathy for this rogue killer who is now seeking public sympathy by playing a ‘cat and mouse’ game by withholding key information on who authorised the killing.

To redeem himself we, the rakyat, expect him to spill the beans to reveal all those with Altantuya’s blood on their hands.

Wira: Special commando unit officers are trained to follow orders with no questions asked. That’s why war criminals in any modern war do not involved junior officers.

Unfortunately, TDM (former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad) is correct, albeit intentionally a little late.

Real Truth: Sirul, you and your partner murdered an allegedly pregnant woman and blew her to bits with military-grade C4 explosives.

Now you claimed you were ordered to do it. Even so, it is still murder as you know this was not a military operation.

Indeed, whether ordered or not, you have committed murder and must be punished for it. This must serve as a lesson to all military personnel that they will suffer the same fate, and they must refuse to kill a civilian even when ordered to do so.

Negarawan: “Sirul yesterday claimed the widely circulated ‘confession’ statement – put up on the Internet – was false, as there had been a lot of changes made to it.”

We are concerned about tampering of evidence, and the sooner you tell the truth, the better. Don’t die in vain and in disgrace and let the real masterminds live scot-free.

Agape: Sirul, if you claim that the statement put out has been changed, please quickly write out the correct version – tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

You never know: another loyal subordinate or well-paid hired gunman may put an end to your life swiftly and unexpectedly, just like what happened to Altantuya.

Wg321: Sirul should not be afraid to tell the truth. The scenario has changed. Today he has the support of Mahathir. Even the IGP is afraid of Mahathir’s shadow.

I hope Sirul should not waste any more time. The IGP will not dare to silent Sirul under the infamous Sedition Act.

Mushiro: The IGP is quick to protect his big boss but this should not be at the expense of fair play and justice.

The earlier IGPs, the attorney-general and the judiciary did the same until the Altantuya murder case was manipulated with the aim of protecting someone rather than arriving at the truth.

The courts did not determine the motive of the murder, did not determine who gave the orders to Sirul, the C4, the immigration records, etc. The court was very successful only in not getting Najib’s name involved.

Eternal Optimist: Sirul, you better come clean fast. If you were misled into killing Altantuya for king and country, the rakyat may still fight for some form of a pardon for you. In the first place, people find it hard to believe that you would kill somebody you did not even know.

Only you can shed light on why you did what you did.
