YOURSAY ‘Were you really investigating? Or was it to find a way out for them?’

MACC’s two-hour probe meant to ‘clear’ Rosmah

MACC: We even probed Rosmah, we fear nothing

yrsayrosmah Odin: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed, I am sure many people are reasonable and quite amenable to giving you the benefit of doubt.

But even a saint would be asking why you mention this (that you have cleared PM’s wife Rosmah Mansor) only now and not at the time when the issue was hot. And even a saint would doubt you very much.

Doubtless you have also investigated the former Sarawak chief minister (Abdul Taib Mahmud) and found he is clean, but you are waiting for him to depart for the other world to reveal how brave you have been. Yes?

Mushiro: Abu Kassim said he personally instructed his officers to initiate a probe an hour after a report was lodged with MACC.

Two hours later, the MACC chief called Najib Abdul Razak and asked the latter if his wife had bought the ring. Three hours later, Rosmah was cleared.

So who ordered the RM24 million ring? Did she order it for fun or with intention to buy? If yes, this means she has the money. Has MACC started probing Rosmah’s collection of multimillion ringgit watches?

MACC, there is no need to praise yourself. Others will praise you if you are truthful and good. The current impression is that MACC is toothless and is only there to serve Umno.

AJ: Two hours? You asked Najib, you asked Rosmah, you asked Customs and you asked the jeweller. How conveniently expeditious.

Show us one case amongst the hundreds involving high-ranking BN politicians and officials, such as the attorney-general, home minister or the PM, that you have convicted.

By the way, what did the Immigration say about the disappearance of the records of Altantuya Shaariibuu?

Isana: This must be the joke of the day. We know the modus operandi of MACC, when it concerns BN-related individuals, it is to investigate to clear the culprits.

Give them a clean bill of health so that they can continue with their plan to steal and plunder the country.

Drngsc: If you are investigating, you are surely very brave indeed. But were you really investigating? Or was it to find a way out for them?
NX: MACC, Dr Mahathir Mohamad has openly declared that if BN loses, many in Umno will be behind bars. Do you understand that it is an admission that Umno ministers are corrupt and have indulged in crimes that is worthy of being prosecuted?

It’s a declaration from Mahathir that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Attorney-General’s Office and MACC are in collusion with BN in hiding the crimes.

MatiLoh: I love this: “US-based jeweller Jacob & Co explained that the ring brought into the country under her name was not for her and she did not purchase it.

“Jacob & Co said the 30.11-carat Natural Fancy Blue Grade Cushion Diamond Ring was for the viewing of Maira Nazarbayev, the mother-in-law of Rosmah’s daughter Nooryana Najwan.”

Why in the world was the ring brought in under her name but for someone else?

Meh: Pray tell me, MACC, where did PM Najib Razak and Rosmah get the money to pay for the flowers (note flowers only) for their daughter’s wedding?

Wg321: Did Abu Kassim probe his officers who used government laptops to watch sex videos while interrogating Teoh Beng Hock, who was later found dead?

This was revealed by the Commission of Inquiry in the death of Teoh Beng Hock. Why did Abu Kassim condone such misconduct by his own officers? One of them was even promoted.

An explanation from him on the matter is long overdue. Don’t behave like Najib, always keeping dumb.

Anonymous #40538199: Indeed, there is really nothing to fear when your colleagues get promoted after a royal commission of inquiry has found them culpable for a death in custody.

Fairnessforall: We are not idiots. Please tell me how can the wife of a PM (who is earning approximately RM50,000 a month) live the lifestyle that she does.

Lamps: And how did Rosmah’s son, Riza Aziz, buy a RM117.5 million apartment in New York and a house in Beverly Hills worth at least RM61.5 million?

Sadirah: MACC, I think you are doing a great job. However, the question is that we are a nation known for corruption.

Yes, you have caught a lot of small fish but what about those who wear RM300,000 watches and whose lifestyle does not match their income.

Catch one or two and the negative perception of MACC will change.

The Silent Generation: There is a difference between showmanship and real serious investigation. Dare to show us the actual report on this investigation or has it been conveniently lost?

Doc: MACC going after Rosmah is like a toothless tiger going after a fire-breathing dragon lady.
