YOURSAY | ‘A very serious crime? What about people who plunder the country’s coffers?’

Only dictatorships jail activists like Hisham Rais

Sedition – Hisham sentenced to nine months’ jail

yrsayHisham Donplaypuks: What happened to freedom of speech which is guaranteed in the constitution? And how was it seditious when no one actually took to the streets? Where was the threat and the crime committed?

This is why the Sedition Act must be abolished. PM Najib Razak promised to abolish the Sedition Act, and then did a U-turn and surrender to right-wing fundamentalists in Umno.

What a traitor. Najib is the one who should be jailed for lying to the rakyat for this, and the RM2.6 billion “donation”.

Why has he not dared to sue the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) if their report on the RM2.6 billion was misleading or untruthful?

Ronald: This is a gross sentence for a small misdemeanour.

Sabahan: If what activist Hishamuddin Rais did was a “serious crime”, then most crimes in Malaysia should be classified as serious crimes.

P.Dev Anand Pillai: These are classic examples of judgments that don’t make any sense at all and yet we are supposed to accept these kinds of judgments not criticise them.

Doc: What only nine months in the slammer? This is the new Malaysia; sedition against the Najib administration should warrant five to 10 years in the slammer with hard labour.

Our judges should be sent to Russia and China for training to learn how to deal with sedition charges and sentencing.

TheAnonymous: A “very serious crime”? Hmm… what about people who plunder the country’s coffers?

Anonymous_40f4: So stealing billions of the rakyat’s money is not a serious crime? And Hishamuddin, who just called for a public rally which is allowed by law, is taken as an even more serious crime?

RR: When judges are biased towards the government for their own survival the people cannot expect true and fair justice. Judges should ask their own conscience whether they are really administering justice.

Victor Johan: The people should now take to the streets, peacefully from shop to shops and house to house, en mass, and call for other people who are eligible but have not yet registered as voters to do so.

Urgently go to the nearest post office with your identity card and register. The rakyat need to ensure an overwhelming vote for Pakatan Harapan candidates in the next GE14.

The country’s administration needs a complete overhaul, otherwise our nation will be further doomed.

Anonymous_40f4: Only dictatorships jail activists. Malaysia under Umno-BN is a kleptocracy where the corrupt always have their way.

Scandal-hit M’sia now ‘sick man of Asean’, says Kit Siang

From Penang: Malaysia is now the “sick man of Asean” because of the 47 percent of voters in the last election.

This should be put into the history books so that our future generations will learn about their contribution to the nation’s dark ages.

Just A Malaysian: The switch from liberal democratic thinking to one bound by racial and religious supremacy has impoverished all Malaysians except those with one hand dipped into the kitties while the other stirring racial and religious hatred.

All Malaysians have to wake up to this ‘wayang’ (show) to save our beloved nation.

Roguekiller: The BN government under Najib, who is laden with all sorts of scandals, is not capable of administering the country, which is blessed with all sorts of natural resources, yet is a total failure.

He tried to exonerate his failure citing the fall of petroleum price; is petroleum the only produce of Malaysia, what about palm oil, rubber, etc?

Middle East countries are solely dependent on oil, yet the fall in the oil price doesn’t seem to affect them at all.

Why? This is because their governments don’t steal from the coffers. Why is Malaysia so down and almost out, laden with a cash flow problem, our external debts running into hundreds of billions of dollars?

It is therefore high time to get rid of this inefficient government if Malaysians want a better and brighter future.

Goldee: The whole country is sick because there are many people who don’t care as long as he can get some crumbs.

Those who con others are not from the opposition but from those who are ruling the country. They are the biggest conmen and liars.

Anonymous_1377321471: The sickness of this nation can be cured only by rehabilitating the mindset and habit of reliance and dependency of the majority, who have been drugged with a fantasy pill promising a wonderland and a good life if BN continues to rule.
