YOURSAY ‘Its sail has torn into tiny shreds, rudder is completely smashed…’

Will there be mutiny on the Bugis ship?

No turning back, Najib tells critics

yrsaybugisship Aramis: Yes, forward down the road to perdition. True to form, Najib Razak is the last PM from Umno, according to the ‘Rahman’ prophecy. The ominous signs were being revealed since 2014, if you are a believer.

I am not a believer and forecast the crunch to occur when we run out of oil; but as fate would have it, a sub-US$60 per barrel price (which was beyond 95% of analysts’ estimates/predictions) just two and a half years back will be the catalyst.

Odin Tajué: Your sail has torn into tiny shreds, your rudder is completely smashed, your oars have broken beyond repair.

You are only dreaming of your destination and thinking it is all real. You are delusional. Definitely no doubt at all about that.

A4MSIA: The least PM Najib can do is resign immediately as finance minister and allow somebody else who is more competent and untainted by the odious stench of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to take over the cleaning up.

Tailek: The only way to remove the PM is a mutiny in Umno itself. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long, otherwise this country may go bankrupt.

Mushiro: Yes, Najib can use the rhetoric that he is not turning back, but he has not much room to manoeuver going forward. The end is very near for Najib. Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad will see to that.

Clearwater: Life’s a pain, especially so when your woman has over-the-top taste in handbags, jewelry and private air travel. You almost feel sorry for the man until you think 1MDB and its RM42 billion debt.

Saphire: As long as he does not answer where the RM42 billion goes, it will follow him like his shadow.

Najib, for the sake of the country, can you please step down? To put it bluntly, you are not cut to be a leader, much less a prime minister.

But Najib sits on top of 1MDB board, PAS tells DPM

Kim Quek: PAS vice-president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, you are virtually calling for Najib to be also sacked, along with 1MDB’s board of directors.

But aren’t you going against your boss, Abdul Hadi Awang, who has openly opposed any move to remove Najib from his premiership? Is your stand on Najib the prevailing view of the leadership of PAS? If so, isn’t your president stating a policy contrary to that of the party?

Further, are you in favour of forming a unity government with Umno-BN, as Hadi seems to be keen for such a coalition when he claimed that both Anwar Ibrahim and the late Tok Guru Nik Aziz had supported such an idea?

Ferdtan: Kim Quek, I agree with you. Tuan Ibrahim will be contesting the deputy president against incumbent Mohamad ‘Mat’ Sabu, whose faction has consistently stand against Umno, especially Najib’s excesses.

Tuan Ibrahim, you are seen to be aligned with the ulama faction, and in fact, had already expressed support for Hadi Awang.

So why are you not backing your party president when he had made it very clear that he is supporting Najib to remain as PM? Afraid to be compromised by your link with Hadi?

Why are you stealing the thunder from Mat Sabu? Your call for Najib to be sacked doesn’t jive with the real sentiments among the ulama.

Does this mean that you are disassociating yourself from Hadi’s call for support for Najib?

Anonymous #72651769: Kim Quek and Ferdtan, this clearly shows you do not who Tuan Ibrahim is. Generalising the ulama as a ‘all into one’ camp is a wrong way to read PAS’ politics.

Kelantan deputy MB Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah and PAS Youth deputy chief Nik Mohamad Abduh are enemies. But to you both, they are the best of friends. I suggest you focus on the topic.

FellowMalaysian: You are damn right, Tuan Ibrahim. As the chief advisor to 1MBD and as the finance minister, the 1MBD board receives instructions from Najib.

Not only the board’s directors, Najib and his lackey finance minister II and deputy finance minister must also be sacked. It must be done now as there’s enough evidence to show abuse of power.

Abasir: Does the finance minister oversee the so-called wealth sovereign fund, 1MDB? Yes. Is the finance minister in any way connected to 1MDB? Yes, as advisor.

Does the finance minister attend 1MDB’s advisory board meetings? Yes. Does the advisor check if his advice is followed by the board and management and receive reports from them? Yes.

Is there any reason to believe the finance minister has been kept in the dark by the senior management and the board? No. Has the finance minister explained his role in and decisions by 1MDB to the cabinet? Yes.

Was the cabinet always updated on the dealings and transactions by 1MDB? Yes. Is the cabinet as guilty as the finance minister for all that has been uncovered so far? Yes.

Saphire: I don’t think all the ministers are stupid and fail to see that 1MDB is in serious trouble. Many by now know that billions are not accounted for. But none dare ask Najib to explain.

Is Najib more important than the country? If they have principles, they should put the nation before self.

Bringon14: The whole government should be sacked and replaced with one that will be accountable to the people and that will govern with the interests of the nation and the people in their hearts.

This current lot has been weighed, measured and found to be not only wanting but thoroughly untrustworthy. Bring on GE14.
