Will the real PAS please stand up?
Let bygones be bygones – PAS to forgive, forget all Umno’s past sins
Existential Turd: All I can say is, birds of a feather flock together.
When they oppose each other, they have lots of justifications. When they join hands, they have equally convincing justifications. So which is the real PAS and Umno?
It is fortunate now that the worst elements in Malaysian politics is concentrated in one front rather than spread out on all fronts. We voters will have an easier time to decide in the next election.
Anonymous 2305141436452229: By allying with Umno, especially at the height of the 1MDB scandal, PAS’ version of Islam promotes hypocrisy, racism, fraud and blatant misuse of power.
I hope more Malays and Muslims are educated enough to see past what these so-called ‘warriors of the Malay race and Islam’ are.
Wira: The late Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat must be turning in his grave. Anyway, this is good for politics in Malaysia.
Voters can now decide clearly which side to support – the corrupt or the righteous.
Slumdog: The rakyat are smart enough to see that this devious ploy by PM Najib Razak to woo PAS to join Umno-BN is for his own ends.
He realises that Umno’s electoral support has eroded, thanks to the mega scandals surrounding him. He needs PAS seats to maintain his majority in Parliament in GE14.
Unfortunately, PAS is being seduced by the offer of ministerial positions, power and money. I’m not sure how this reconciles with the struggles of Islam.
Here’s hoping that this will be a political marriage in hell.
Anonymous #12566075: Yes, Umno leaders are fighting desperately to remain in power and PAS leaders are eagerly seeking to be included in government.
As citizens of the country, we should open our eyes and ears wide to see whether Umno-PAS alliance will be good for the nation’s future.
Anonymous 109681439536914: I wish to know PKR’s and Selangor MB Azmin Ali’s opinion on this issue.
Is PKR also planning to forgive and forget all Umno Baru’s sins and join the BN coalition?
6th Generation Immigrant: Islam is opposed to racism. The Quran teaches that all people are created equal by Allah. No race can claim to be superior to another.
The Prophet also taught that the only thing that separates one person from another is their good/bad actions.
Both Umno and PAS are not adhering to these tenets.
R Venugopal: We must congratulate PAS for forming an alliance to keep Umno in power and at the same time promote nepotism and corruption in the country.
PAS too shall be sucked into the culture of Umno and ultimately succumb to the luxuries of being in power.
Let us wish them all the success in their alliance and now PAS too shall have the share of the bounty.
Anonymous 2019141442496707: Let us see how Umno deal with PAS come GE14; namely the seat arrangement.
That will tell us the true nature of Umno-PAS cooperation. We will then know which party is to actually benefit from the so-called cooperation.
Hamzah Paiman: In politics principles are important. If you keep changing your principles, people will start doubting you.
You say you want to uphold religious values, yet you don’t mind cooperating with the corrupt.
You say you want to uphold religious values, yet you don’t mind cooperating with parties which spew racial hatred.
So in the end, ask yourself what religious values are you upholding or are you simply using religion to cling on to power.
Anonymous #45527285: When did PAS obtained such God-like status? That they are able to forgive the wrongdoing, corruption, abuse of power, the misuse of public money and many other transgressions.
Let’s see whether God forgives them for that.
Anonymous 122461436161429: One may forgive family disputes and minor tiffs. One does not forgive and forget a leader of a country who is allegedly stealing billions.
This cannot be forgiven nor forgotten as it deserves a jail sentence.
Justine Gow: Yes, it looks like the ever pure and faithful wife is ready to forgive her perfidious husband even though he shows no intention of stopping his sinful activities.
N1: PAS is now officially the collaborator to corruption.
