YOURSAY | ‘This is priceless. MCA is scolding others for the racist remark by Umno.’

Why is MCA barking at Guan Eng for Umno’s misdeeds?

MCA leader: Is Guan Eng afraid of offending some Muslims?

yrsatwhymcabarkingyoursay-EnglishPatriot1: I thought Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has already told Penang opposition leader Jahara Hamid the Taoist shrine at Armenian Street Park stays put?

So MCA central committee member Ti Lian Ker, what on earth are you talking about? How come I did not hear MCA say anything about the issue about housing in Kedah where there were complaints about the appearance of crosses on roofs of terrace houses, or the protest over operating a church in Kampung Medan in Selangor, in which the brother of the inspector-general of police was also involved?

It looks like MCA only has somewhat of a voice in opposition-run states and is totally gutless in BN-run states.

Dalvik: Ti, why don’t you raise your concerns with Jahara – your Umno partner – who started the issue in the first place?

Please shut the gap in preaching others on what to do, while you have failed to do the right thing in the first place.

RCZ: This is priceless. MCA is scolding others for the racist remark by MCA’s own partner Umno.

What is this useless party doing about Jahara? Has she been mandated by BN to make such statements? If not, please take disciplinary action against her if you dare, MCA.

Whitemoon: Go ahead and defend the shrine yourself. Your game is pathetic and futile.

If Lim had defended the shrine using your logic, you would jump and call him a racist and extremist. Enough already, MCA, please find a better reason to argue for God’s sake.

ACR: Does Ti genuinely believe that the federal constitution’s Article 11 on freedom of religion provisions entitles places of worship to be built at a public park? Ti is a lawyer, but this is the second time this month he has spoken like a fool.

The previous episode being when he stated that the federal constitution itself enables racism, without realising the original constitution required the special position provisions to be reviewed after 15 years. And only post-1969 with Umno-BN’s majoritarian path did the constitution become so warped.

Benghazi: MCA politicians will always find fault with whatever Lim from rival DAP says about whatever subject.

The MCA has not ruled Penang for a long time, and had envied Gerakan which had ruled Penang for many years before the state fell into the hands of DAP.

To me, Lim has shown political maturity by not playing the religion card. He had rebutted points raised by Jahara, and doused a potential religious strife in the state.

Dingy: When his party boss was accused of having received enormous amounts of money from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, Ti should have asked his president to disclose the amount.

Why were MCA leaders all quiet? Did they get their share from their president to shut their mouths?

Dont Just Talk: There is no need to read your comment berating Lim, when there is not a whimper coming from MCA leaders, including you, Ti, on the shameful ‘681 American Pies’ financial scandal.

Lim was grilled by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for nine hours on the first day and another 10 hours on the second day over his purchase of a 30-yeare-old bungalow in Penang for RM2.8 million, and MCA leaders are shouting abuse of power, corruption, etc, etc.

When it comes to ‘681 American Pies‘, MCA leaders know nothing of it. Even the once infamous Talam-gate Chua Tee Yong is silent about the financial scandal when over a million Malaysians are calling on your indirect boss to resign.

SusahKes: And these are the chaps that hardly raised a wink, nary a protest, at their BN boss when he headlined the nation with his “Chinese tsunami” remarks; and their mouthpiece,The Star, was characteristically silent at the Big Boss’s pally-pally affair with PAS chief Abdul Hadi Awang.

And you thought political hypocrisy was outdated.

Anonyxyz: Ti is trying his luck by banging here and there, hoping to strike a target among the Penang electorate.

Perhaps he is aiming to be appointed as the BN chief as Gerakan’s Teng Chang Yeow appears to be throwing in the towel after running around aimlessly post-GE13.

SusahKes: Ti, this is not Sarawak, these are peninsular folks. By Jove, we are acutely more aware of BN’s shenanigans and deflection tactics, when we see it. MCA and Gerakan’s pettiness is not going to return voter affection towards them.

Kit P: Indeed, a really cheap shot from Ti, especially given MCA’s long history of silence and grovelling in the face of Umno race-based extremism.

1MDB is not going to disappear quietly into the night, and neither would MCA’s own failure to protect minority rights over the years, and its failure in abdicating those rights to the extreme elements within BN.

The number one culprit, in my mind, is not Umno; it is MCA and Gerakan for closing one eye, when they were most needed.
